Dear Pri After reading your posts I am convinced that the timeline for PCC ,Medicals and AOS bond as mentioned in the original acknowledgment letter should be meticulously followed. If you had done so then by now your father would have been in Australia on CPV 143 by middle of June 2014 as is clear from visa grant time lines on GAINWAVE UK. No one has suffered who has followed the prescribed timelines as is clear from the various posts in this portal. One should use common sense also and not merely go by MARA agents advice blindly as MARA agents` commonsense is not going to be better than yours [in all probability]. Any way what ends well is well after all. Regards

Dear Petals I hope to migrate this year from London on parent visa.I have never held a regular job.I have lived on my rental incomes and my spouse`s earnings.I am 55 years old female with Graduate degree in life sciences.Can you tell me what job I can expect in Melbourne to keep myself busy to earn some pocket money and to get assimilated in Aussie way of life.Some one suggested to buy house in HILLSIDE near Tullamarine airport. Is it a good place to live? Will my investment be safe in case of downturn In Aussie economy that everyone is writing about. I hope that you don`t mind my asking you so many questions. Regards

I was just wondering if the date of start of validity period of 5 years of 143 visa starts from the date of initial entry into Australia just as the two years period of validity of 173 visa starts from the date of initial entry as confirmed by you.Those who have 143 visa can give definitive answer.All replies are welcome. Regards

As I understand the first requirement is to clear PCC and Health Assessment.Only thereafter the AOS is called for by the CO. However, as per posts in this forum, from 2013 onward`s in the acknowledgement letter fixed timelines are being given to initiate PCC, Health Check and AOS. The AOS means depositing the bond amount with CBA. CO, as and when appointed, will call for PCC only as AOS is sent directly by Centrelink after deposit of bond as is the case with the Medicals which also go directly. It appears that now depositing AOS bond is parallel activity to Health check.If this is the case then bond money has to be deposited even without a CO being appointed. With best wishes

Dear Carob Thanks for your kind words. In your case I think that the clear picture will emerge in end July 2014 when Migration Report 2013 -2014 is published.It will tell us the backlog of pending applications as on 1 July 2014 and quota for the CPV for 2014- 2015. If the number of applications rises for 2013-14 then, assuming the quota remains same or with marginal change, the waiting period would lengthen. If the number of applications in 2013-14 is considerably less than that of year 2012-13 then, as your eternal optimist daughter hopes, you will celebrate your birthday with your daughter in Perth in Sept 2014. I also want to move over at the earliest but then I will have to make one to two trips back to London every year to wrap up my financial interests here. Waiting for upswing in Canary Wharf and Liverpool Street. My best wishes are with you.

Well I have quoted from the published figures form Migration Report 2012-2013. It is clear that there was heavy receipt of applications in June 2012. Once this big lot is cleared then in next two three months time the processing time should come down to 17- 18 months. Date of acknowledgement means nothing I think. I don`t think that PVC keeps on accumulating the applications and opens them all on one bright day and issue acknowledgement for all the accumulation in one day. They must be processing them in the order in which they have been received date wise.Regarding Alan`s suggestion to request for deployment of extra staff I have my own doubts. They have to clear yearly quota which they do every year. I don`t think if any weekly/fortnightly/ monthly quota is there. One more thing, not all applicants post their timelines on CPV tracker. During last year approx 6500 CPV were issued.While the number of posts in CPV issued for the last year is just 15 which is statistically insignificant. Therefore to go by timelines of CPV tracker is at the best misleading oneself. I find that the posts in this forum give the accurate picture. Some of us are desperate to move to Australia at the earliest because of our personal reasons, whereas many of us can bide our time of nearly two years before making the move. I know several cases where after validating the CPV the persons are spending five six months in UK every year. I hope that you get your visa soon. :biggrin::wink:

Demand in the contributory parent category decreased by approximately 1524 applications between 2011-12 and 2012-13. Demand in 2011-12 was driven by high numbers of applications in May and June 2012. The number of applications in 2012-13 generally increased throughout the year reaching a high of 927 in April 2013, before falling substantially in May and June 2013. Over 12 500 clients remain in the pipeline at 30 June 2013, an increase of 4.8 per cent over the program year. This category was capped in 2012-13." As lay person I have done simple maths.There are 12500 applicants in pipeline as on 30 June 2013. There are 6675 positions for CPV visa for the year commencing from 1 July 2013. This means 556 visa every month if DIAC works with a clock work precision.For sake of grasping the situation let us take the month of January 2013 which is the middle of the year for calculation purposes.At roughly the rate of 1000 applications per month, by the middle of the January there will be receipt of 6500 applications.If we divide this by 556 then we get answer as 12 approximately.Therefore those who received their acknowledgement in middle of January 2013 it would mean a wait of 12 months counting from 1 july 2013. This means that such applicant who received their acknowledgement in mid January 2013 can hope for visa grant by end of June 2014.Thus the total waiting period comes to 17 months approximately. Kindly let us know if I am correct. I am sure that there are others also waiting anxiously for the visa like me.Your expert answer will be welcomed by all. Thanks in advance. with warm regards.### From above it is clear that as per published figure of applicants in normal course the average time for appointment of CO and grant should be 17 months. CO also takes two three months to finalize. I think one can just wait and watch.

If I am not mistaken it is now taking 18 months from the date of acknowledgment for appointment of CO? That being the case I think character verification and medicals can be got done in 14th month from the date of application. Will that be a sensible course of action instead of getting character verification done on completion of 10 months from date of application and medicals to be got done on expiry of 12 months from the date of application as directed in the acknowledgment letter.All answers are welcome. My turn for CPV 143 is expected sometime in middle of 2014. Right now I am on west side of English channel in between Isle Of Dogs and Canada Waters. Regards

I can understand the real question behind your post. I would suggest that you read Returning resident visa provisions in detail in immi gov au website.If you stay for a cumulative period of two years during the currency of 5 year visa then you will get RR Visa for three years. If stay is less than two years then one has to establish permanent ties with Australia also. It will be better if you read it yourself, that will give you total picture.One never knows when Australia would toughen citizen ship acquisition rules like it has been done here in UK. Once 143 visa has been obtained then prudence lies in getting Australian citizenship at the earliest unless one is keeping the option of testing the Australian waters open so as to move back.For a middle income applicant like me it is going to be one way street. I am neither hard pressed for money nor awash with money. But for my age I do not wish to make any more experiments in settling here and there. Settling in Australia, God willing, shall be my last relocation in life. Happy relocation to you.

Dear Carob I am not MARA agent. In my earlier posts I have done simple maths w.r.t. the number of visa places available and the number of the applicants in the waiting list as per the published figures of DIAC. The average time for grant of VISA from the date of acknowledgement comes to 16-17 months. Exceptions excluded.In case of MOZZA the acknowledgement date is 24 may 2012. So 15 months have already passed. MOZZA`s case is now overdue for grant of visa. In my humble opinion as soon as police verification and medicals are successfully completed then the AOS should be quickly wrapped up so that call for second VAC can materialize at the earliest. How much quickness MOZZA should show would depend on target date of visa validation decided by the applicant as correctly pointed out by LINDAY in the foregoing post.Somehow I am of the firm opinion that such issues which are contingent upon political vagaries should be quickly concluded. Who knows how much tightening the new Govt. in Canberra might do. The honeymoon period of commodity boom is over. Au economy is slowing. There are firm voices about forthcoming recession. Parents are not considered as potential tax payers as they are generally past the working age.They are expected to lead retired life.Steep rise in visa application fees is an indicator of things to come.Why go far, here in UK inbound migration of parents of the citizens is not allowed from non EU countries unless proof of financial dependency on the sponsoring UK citizen can be established showing that the sponsor is financially supporting the parent for last ten years.In any case, as a parent, whatever may be the " ifs" and "buts" and "whys" and "wherefores " I very strongly feel that in twilight years of our life sooner we are near our progeny the better it is. Hi To all waiting for CPV. It appears from recent posts that average time for grant of visa from the date of acknowledgment is going to be 16 to 17 months, exceptions excluded. Goodluck to all in waiting. Regards
