Hi all, today fulfilled 2 years stay in designated area form visa 489, now trying to fill the application but after completion of 5 % application the following error encounters: you do not hold a valid prerequisite visa to enable to use this service. is there any problem with online application? by the way I was secondary applicant on 489 visa ,now I am fulfilled 2 years stay and 1 year fulltime work requirement in designated area , now I will be the main applicant for visa 887 . is it a cause because I was a secondary applicant for visa 489 ,the online application in showing a error message . pls help what to do. thank you

Hi , currently I am on 489 (family sponsored) ,who is living and working in designated area , it will be 2 years on 4th feb 2015 ,so planning to submit my visa application of 887 on 5th of feb 2015.So ,need some advice: 1) is it ok to submit all documents as a colour scan only or I have to certify all the documents cause I have a few documents which is available only online such like online payslip. 2) is it ok to submit application the day it will reach 2 years or have to wait 2 -3 days more. 3) I was a secondary applicant for 489 but applying as a primary applicant for 887 visa ,is it ok 4) to show the evidence of 2 years stay I have some utility documents that shows the year which I was on different visa for example :- water bill shows :- usage period :-21 dec 2012 to 15 feb 2013 , cause my 489 visa was validate from 4th feb 2013 . will it make any different. thank you regards

Hi,if u Are in family sponsored visa ,you must live in designated area,by the way which designated area you are living in.

Hi rupert , Thanks for your reply , ya my wife works more then 40 hrs but position is as a part time permanent . there will be employer references , pay slip , contract for evidence provided . so any suggestion. one more thing is it compulsary that to fullfil fulltime work requirement it should contnious employment in same a year or it can be different for example i worked 10 months as a full time in one company for first year and two part time job in second year for 2 months .will it possible like that . thanks

Hi all, 1) I was a secondary applicant for 487 visa and i have worked as a fulltime for 9 months in one company in first year , in second year i worked 1 part time and 1 casual job with combining fulltime hours for 3 months . So did i fulfill full time work requirements of 12 months for 887 the way i work. and Am i eligible to apply for 887 visa as a main applicant even i was a secondary applicant for 487? 2) my wife (main applicant for 487) is working as a part time in one company. under that company there is different working sites and she is working more then 40 hours per week.so she is covering fulltime hours. my question is will she be eligible for 887 visa even she is working as a part time but full filling fulltime hours per week working in multiple sites for same company for 12 months. Help with above questions will be appreciated. thank you

HI , If you were sponsored by family then you can live and work in perth because perth comes to designated area , If you were sponsored by state then you have to live and work in Regional Australia/low population growth metropolitan areas, thats means you cant live and work in perth metropolitan area. to qualify for visa 887 you must show the evidence that you have been living and working in specified regional area.

Hi to all Currently we are in family sponsored 489 visa and we are livinging and working in Melbourne Metropolitan Area as apart of designated area. the question is :- for visa subclass 489 i was a secondary applicant and my wife was Main applicant but now my wife has only casual jobs and i have full time job. after we will complete 2 years residence in melbourne and 1 year full time work , as a secondary applicant in visa subclass 489, can i be able to apply for visa subclass 887 as a main applicant? if yes , should i need to have skill assessment,because i dont have that one and should i need to submit new ielts result because i already submitted my ielts for visa subclass 489 and can we apply online for visa subclass 887 because in online application i heard that there no option for the applicant who lived in designated area. Please advice me . Thank you in advance

Hi there, once you are granted 489 visa (,if you are in family sponsored ),you must live and work in designated area. in immi website it says Sponsored by an eligible family member You must live and work in a designated area. If you plan to seek permanent residence, you will need to prove that you have spent the specified time in a designated area. That means in Victoria you can live anywhere.

i am asking about the procedure of applying visa application 887 cause in online application of 887 ,there is no option for the applicant who is living and working in Designated area. So, will it be ok if we apply Paper application for 887 but in immi website it says : Skilled Regional subclass 887 applicants can only apply online.Big confusion.
