  1. Applied on 15th October....took 7 months to the day to come to the day....wont be long mate!
  2. Hello guys and girls, Got my visa confirmation yesterday....exactly 7 months to the date of the application. Flying out on the 24th June! Good luck for everyone else waiting! Woohoo!
  3. Yeah I'm sure its nothing to worry about either, its just like false hope thats all. Obviously I'm really happy for you guys that have had there visa's granted but also wish I was in that position. On my CO, she isn't on holiday at the moment and I've said a few times before, she isn't really very approachable on any form of contact (and thats the limited contact we've had). Almost feel like I've ruined her week when I've had to contact her judging by her response! Maybe I'll hear something next week....just been 7 months since I've seen my girlfriend and I'm desperate now! Thanks for your response though, much appreciated. Liam
  4. Hey guys, Seen some guys have had there 309/100 visa's granted. I applied for mine on the 14th of October and everything is done and sent in....seen these guys who have applied at the same time as me have had there visa's granted and validated....do you think mine is far away to being validated if I've applied around the same date? Cheers in advance for the responses Kind regards Liam Hawkes
  5. Unfortunately for me, I can't afford to go early on a tourist visa because not being able to work for 3-4 months isn't something I can financially adjust for, especially considering my partner and I have just layed out a deposit for our place in Melbourne. Just wanted to know when it is you get this visa grant number/validation date and how it's going to arrive so therefore I can make plans (flight/employment)
  6. Just adding on from this initial question on the thread if I may... I've applied for a partner visa and all my information, medical and police check has been accepted. My CO sent me an email saying that my visa will be granted 8-9 months from the date my application was recieved. Now, when I replied back thanking her and then asking how I would find out when I can go, the response she gave me was the same as I've said above. All I asked was if I would receive an email or a letter confirming I can go and she wouldn't give me an answer. Can anyone tell me if, when its your time, do you get an email or a letter through the post confirming you can go? Thanks in advance
  7. Yeah, I've only spoken to my case officer a few times and to be honest she doesn't seem the most helpful person in the world...it's actually a bit intimidating asking her a question! Just had a look at the other thread you suggested...one person was recommended 10 months and got done in 5, while others, much similar to my timeline appear to be in the same boat. Very bizarre method of processing and a frustrating one! Worth it in the end though!
  8. What i did when applying for mine was send everything off...all the forms, evidence, statements they needed initially so it got it out the way. After that the CO gives you a date for when you can go for your medical and police check.
  9. Thanks very much for your help and advice guys, I do appreciate it. just another quick question...is it going to be another 3/4 months then until I get an entry date? Would of thought once they have all the info they could of atleast given you a date so you can book a flight in advance and give respective employers an ETA. thanks in advance, Liam
  10. Hi fellow Poms In October, I applied for a partner visa so I could live and be with my girlfriend in Melbourne. We've been together nearly three years, one of which I spent living in Australia with her on a working/holiday visa. To my question...I've sent off and completed all evidence they required, which then in turn promoted the medical and police checks. Both of these have now been completed. The Australian House in London, when I applied, say that it will take 8-9 months from date of first application (so theoretically May-June) however, since they literally have everything they need from me can it really take another 4-5 months to process? Has anyone here had similar experiences or know if perhaps thats just a overall date they have to give? Is it likely it will be approved before said time estimation? I'm kind of desperate...my girlfriend is Australian and I've seen once for 2 weeks in the last 6 months because I had to go home and sort family issues out when my previous visa expired. I just want to know if there is any hope I can get back over there sooner and start my life properly with her. Many thanks in advance for any advice/help given Kind regards Liam
