  1. Hi rammygirl - I did think about that, but we don't meet the criteria for de-facto (not living together with no shared bills/banks etc), and not been together long enough to be able to provide sufficient grounds. Thanks :-)
  2. Hi guys. I'm on a 457 (which expires Jan 2018), and my employer and I submitted our 186 application in July. I would just like to know what options are open to me should either part of the application be refused (either my employer's sponsorship or my application)? There are a few questions regarding whether immigration will be satisfied that we meet the training requirement, as a lot of our training is provided free by our vendors, although as they are worldwide, we do incur significant travel expenditure to attend (greater than 1% of payroll) which I know can be counted towards the benchmark. If however we're refused, what are my options? I only have about 6 weeks left on my 457 before the Bridging Visa kicks in. Can I appeal against a refusal? What about other types of visa? Can I get a study visa and go to uni instead? What options are there which mean I can stay here? I just can't bear the thought of having to leave my partner and family here in Australia and go back to the UK - I've been here for 3+ years and built a life here :-( Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Neil PS: Owing to age and education I can't reach enough points to qualify for a 189 visa, so that's not an option
  3. Thank you Alaska - this is encouraging news :-) One question - did you have to specify a job from the CSOL, and did it 'officially' require a degree? Neil
  4. Hi Lebourvellec. My concern with the 457 Skilled Worker, is that they still have to nominate me for a job from the CSOL, in this case the account manager or business development manager roles. Wouldn't these still need a degree qualification, given that they are the same as the 186 visa, or does the 457 negate the need for a degree? From the Australian Bureau of Statistics web site: UNIT GROUP 2252 ICT SALES PROFESSIONALS ICT SALES PROFESSIONALS manage client accounts and represent companies in selling a range of computer hardware, software and other ICT goods and services to industrial, business, professional and other organisations.Indicative Skill Level: In Australia and New Zealand: Most occupations in this unit group have a level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification. At least five years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for the formal qualification. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 1). Thanks :-) Neil
  5. Hi everyone. I'm currently in talks with a company in VIC who would like me to migrate to AUS and work for them. However, the two possible positions from the Consolidated Skills List for a visa would be "ICT Account Manager" or "ICT Business Development Manager" - both of which are group B, and require a degree according to VETASSESS, which I do not have. The company would like to employ me based on my 12 years of software development and 4 years product management experience with the software products that they sell, as they feel I would be a great asset to their team. My question therefore is two-fold: 1, can my experience be counted in lieu of a degree, given that it is in a highly-specialised and specific software field not easily found? 2, if not, could the company create a labour agreement for a specific job for me (such as product manager, which does not exist on the Consolidated Skills List) and remove the requirement for me to have a degree-educated background? Ideally I am looking for a Subclass 186 Employer Nominated Scheme visa. Any help/advice would be greatly received - I don't want to get my hopes up that this dream could happen until I know whether I can 'get round' the lack of a degree. Thanks! Neil
