  1. Hi Jupiter i did mine with http://www.australianskillsassessments.com , A small family business who were really helpful and set in three stages, first was a simple written application, 2 nd was detailed cv and references and qualifications etc, and 3 rd was a Skype type interview/ watching me perform a hair cut etc followed by a theory exam in which I had a few hours to return completed. Cost about $2000 if I remember right. It took about3 weeks in total for me.
  2. Hi guys, thank you very much. It was a migration agent who verified my documents, he wasn't a 100% but said he thought they had changed the rules. Tried to call an agent unfortunately that person although recommended did not know any of the answers! I've sent my TRA off which takes so I can just wait for skill select to reply to me......hopefully!!!
  3. Hi everyone can anyone help please??? i failed a TRA skills assess in hairdressing as no transcripts were kept when I did my apprenticeship years ago! So I went away and gained an aqf 3 in hairdressing via australianskillsassessment.com and just about to apply for my TRA but have been told that dispute having a aqf 3 that I now need at least 2 years experience after gaining the aqf as it was gained due to the RPL process can anyone confirm or hopefully deny that claim??? thank you so much for your time and help! X
  4. No problems, there are three stages stage one is the employer has to register to become a sponsor stage two the employer has to nominate the position stage three you and your family etc apply for position and vvisa but as I understand it the employer has to pay for all of the above, to be honest I am really no expert just learning things as I go so you check the details for yourself and not go just on what I say as I am just relaying as I've been told.
  5. Hi there I have spoken to concept and there charge is £495 per stage for a 457 but you do not have to use them for each stage. Apparently another agent has said it is something you could do yourself with future employer quite easily, without needing a skills assessment as you are from the uk. Please don't take it as gospel though as I am no expert just relaying what we have been told by experts. Good luck
  6. ok great i will check them out now, thanks
  7. Thank you again, I think the pay should be fine, but will check the details and follow the link you've so kindly given. Thank you so much for your help.
  8. Honestly thank you so much for your responses and help. My apprenticeship does not count for the tra so in theory I do not have any qualifications that the tra would be interested in anyway. the employer is in wynum, qld which post code is 4178. Please if this is something I should look up myself as I a quite happy to do so, but how would I qualify for a 457 without a skills assessment?
  9. Hi guys, thanks for the advice. Unfortunately it is a specific place in Australia I would like to go as my parents live there, but I can not get visa via them. I was not intending to go for a 457 as future employer wanted to make it a permanent transition. I completed a three year app within a salon and have worked for 10 years as a hairdresser. I have already used a whv where I also worked as a hairdresser. Any migrant agents you would recommend? thank you again
  10. Hi guys my name is victoria and i am extremely new to this but i am hoping for some expert advise from more experienced than myself. Basically i am a hairdresser in london and want to emigrate to australia where my parents now live as a hairdresser as only viable way, i recently applied for a skills assessment as have a willing salon to sponsor me but the assessment was knocked back as my deed of apprenticeship i took in salon is not sufficient enough for the tra to acknowledge, and have said i need to get my skills verified by a australian registered business here in the uk, to which i really can nto find at all. i was just hoping for any advice or leads which i could follow up....or anything???? thank you for taking the time to read this
