  1. Hey!! My boyfriend got his today Got an email about 2 weeks ago saying it was ready for approval he needed to leave Aus.. He went to Fiji on Friday (26th april) and got it approved today! Super exciting as we were not expecting it until ealry June. Date Recieved in London: 5th Sept Police and medicals sent about 3 months later (5th dec for meds and 27th for poilce check), no further info requested Email saying it was ready to grant when he was offshore:15th April Visa Granted: 30th April Thanks for every one on heres help! Best of luck to everyone still waiting
  2. Thank you both I really appreciate it! I just wasn't sure if it was appropriate to contact my case officer about such things, I didn't want them thinking 'this is the kind of thing you should ask a migration agent not me!' But I feel better sending them a follow up email now. Thanks again x
  3. I have a question that I didn't think deserved its own thread! my boyfriend is currently in oz on a tourist visa waiting for our visa approval then he will go to New Zealand because he has to be offshore... Does anyone know how he will know when to go to New Zealand? Will they tell him "it will be granted on this date, get out by then!" Our CO LG knows he is in Australia. Hope someone can help
  4. Thanks. but do you think that it is likely to be refused because he's been onshore within the last year? Or is that refusal reason more for people that have been to Australia within the last weeks/months?
  5. Hey guys! Thanks for all your help with my visa issues up to this point. My British boyfriend and I recently logged a de facto visa and your help was so appreciated. i need to be back in Australia in early feb to start back at uni and our partner visa isn't due to be finalized until early June. My partner is going to come with me on a tourist visa. since feb- June is 5 months it would be ideal for us to apply for the 676 tourist visa that allows stays up to 6 months. however- I've read people have been declined on this visa because of 'recent time spent onshore'.. he has been to Australia on a tourist visa in early 2011 and on a working holiday visa in late 2011- feb 2012... So it has been almost a year since he was last onshore. does anyone know if this will count as recent time onshore? Has anyone had a tourist visa 676 6 month granted with more recent time onshore? if its going to be risky we will just apply for the tourist visa eta which is automatic for Brits! (Right?) thanks in advance
