  1. Interestingly, I still have the status "Application received" but have communicated with me CO. He has requested some additional documents (medical) and has replied to a few more detailed questions I had. I have now completed the medical but not heard for a month from them, nor do they respond to emails any longer. I think this is all quite unpredictable.
  2. I think the application process for these permanent residences is quite lightweight. Last year I applied for a tourist visa to India. This was more complicated than the 186 application. So, in my view a MA is a complete waste of money. That said, I have to admit that I am still waiting for my visa (applied in Aug 2012).
  3. Same here. I applied also back in August with the nomination being approved a few weeks later. I got a case officer assigned now, although not officially yet (status still says "Application received") but my CO responds to me and asked for additional documents. So, it seems that in essence CO is assigned.
  4. Congratulations indeed. Would you mind giving more detail on which visa you applied for precisely (i.e. DRC, non-DRC)? Thanks!
  5. I am a bit confused about this. Are MA applications faster than normal ones? I thought the timeframe for 186 assessments is 6 monts, according to the service standards. However, it is unclear whether this is an average, or a typical value.
  6. Congratulations! I wonder whether yours was so fast because it is non-DRC or because your office was simply faster. I submitted a DRC visa early August and had only the Ack. I decided not to front load the medicals though, as per advice. I wonder whether this makes a difference as well.
  7. I have submitted mine before the nomination went through (and it has in the meantime). I guess it depends on your employer. If you are reasonable confident that they get it, then there is no reason to wait. If on the other hand they are a small business who probably do this for the first time, then you are well advised to wait. They may well make mistakes and then your application fee is gone. Regards!
