  1. Please can I get the name of the company. We are about to start our journey.
  2. I have applied for 189 10 days before my daughter turned 18 years old. Would she be classed as dependant still? She is in full time education and lives with me and pays no bills. She does have a part time job for extra pocket money?? We have completed a form 80 for her.
  3. Hi My assessment took 26 weeks but I hear that it is taking longer, but how long I am not sure. Your next step is the expression of interest as long as you have enough points, have you checked how many you will have? Also, do you need to complete an English language test? As this would help with points, and the more you have the quicker you will receive an invite. What visa do you intend to apply for?
  4. Hi all, I just wondered how long the wait is currently for a non pro rata occupation with 70 points? My EOI automatically updated to give me extra points as I had gained experience and so my EOI has been in for nearly a year. Any information is appreciated :)
  5. Hi lothar, Thank you for your reply. I have looked at those links and can understand what you are saying. I am ok age wise as I have a few years before I would lose any points there and only completed my skills and PTE end of 2017. In fact by October I would have a further year of experience that should give me another 5 points. That being said I have a lot of plans and a child that would need to start University by 2020 so I want to get going as soon as. I guess I will have to wait and see what happens for the next few rounds and go from there.
  6. Thank you for all of your responses. I think I will wait for a few months whilst looking into the 190.
  7. I have thought about it but I would rather not be stuck in one area as we are still not sure if we will go to Melbourne or Brisbane. We would like to be making the move (if successful) mid 2019 and we've come along way so I am just concerned that this invite could take longer than I anticipated.
  8. Hi all, I wondered if anyone could help to give me an estimate of timescales? I have applied for expression of interest in the beginning of December for 189 visa for social worker and wondered if anyone knew how long I could be waiting. I applied with 65 points. I have been doing some reading and believe that other occupations have been offered if they have 70 points but nothing specific to social work. Thank you for any information you can provide
  9. Hi, No that's not correct. You have to complete the test to claim the points. 10 for proficient and 15 for superior. As a UK citizen you don't need to prove you have English language but will need to if you want to claim the points. This is what I am doing also.
  10. Hi, iv just got mine back yesterday after applying on 5th May (all documents in). There has been a delay and processing times moved to 20/22 weeks although mine was slightly longer. Can't comment on the job as I'm applying for PR. Sent from my SM-G950F using PomsinOz mobile app
  11. Does he need to complete a migration skills assessment for the temp 457 visa? Sent from my SM-G950F using PomsinOz mobile app
  12. Well since speaking to the agency and explaining where I was at and saying I am applying for PR (189) they said it was ok?? And I asked if I could still get the package although this may not be correct now. Ok have to check with them but I haven't had my interview yet. They said this would be scheduled for some time in the next two months. I was already in the process and have sent off my AASW already so the job just came up at a good time although looking at the new waiting times it does not look like we will get out this year Sent from my SM-G950F using PomsinOz mobile app
  13. Hi Zatara80, I am currently looking at the same package and areas and am also a family of five. I am however trying to complete my visa personally for PR and have told the agency this also ( not Mcarther). What part of the process are you at? Sent from my SM-G950F using PomsinOz mobile app
  14. Ha ha I went through the same process and all documents were in by 5th May. Fingers crossed I hear soon. I am a little behind in looking at the actual visa application and knowing what forms I need to complete....best get on to this! Sent from my SM-G950F using PomsinOz mobile app
  15. When did you send in your skills assessment. Mine was sent in May. I'm hoping to have an outcome by September and if I pass the PTE in August, I plan to complete an EOI. Sent from my SM-G950F using PomsinOz mobile app
  16. Hi Poppyblue, This is so funny as I have also sent in my skills assessment and am awaiting an outcome and have a PTE test booked for August 16! I haven't completed a test yet but have heard people say this was the better of the two. I am also doing it myself to save money. We haven't any real savings but plan on selling up to fund the move. We to are planning on applying for 189. Sent from my SM-G950F using PomsinOz mobile app
  17. Hi Poppyblue, This is my first post and I plan on doing exactly what you are. I am guessing you have moved over now and wondered how you got on? Sent from my SM-G950F using PomsinOz mobile app
  18. Hi Bonnie, just a quick question. I am a qualified social worker but have only been working in the UK for 3 months since qualifying. Its my understanding that until I have 2 years experience (for assessment of skills) I could not apply for EOI?
  19. Ha ha thanks! Im unsure how to approach a factory? As my husbands repairs blowmoulders, factory machines and process. Not even sure where to look but think im gonna start with a Google!
  20. Oh brilliant! That was quick! I might try this now, how did you write the email? As a letter? With a Cv? Sorry if I sound stupid!
  21. Iv thought about doing the same with certain company's but never tried. Youl have to let us know how you get on. I may give it a go.
  22. Hi Rebecca and Lou I am also planning on moving to Oz and am also a social worker, working in child protection in a deprived area in the UK. My husband is a mechanical engineer and we have 3 children. We have been looking in to it since last year but it would be brilliant to get some advice from someone who is working there already. Marie
