  1. Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can help with some advice or experience. I am looking to return in December to the UK for around 1 year with my Australian girlfriend, and then I'm plan to apply Off-Shore for a Australian De Facto Partner Visa for myself (then hoping to return to Australia once the visa is granted). I think that my Australian girlfriend can enter and stay in the UK for 6 months without a visa. Is she then able to apply On-Shore for a UK Student Visa, so that she can stay for a further 6 months to a year? (and work part/full time). Is there anyone else who has done something similar. And generally what is the cost for a typical student course? Thank you all in advance as always :-) Tom
  2. Hello, I'm hoping someone can help with some advice or experience. I am looking to return in December to the UK for around 1 year with my Australian girlfriend, and then plan to apply Off-Shore for a De Facto Partner Visa for myself (then hoping to return to Australia once the visa is granted). We have docs confirming we've been living together for 6 months, and have registered our relationship. Is there anything else we need to consider when applying off-shore in the UK, for an Australian Partner Visa? I've been told the waiting times are around half of that On-Shore in Oz, at around 9 months... do anyone know if this is true? Thank you all in advance :-) Tom
  3. hi all, I'm looking for some advice. I'm currently on a 457 visa (its a labour hire visa sponsored by an agency) working in IT. My 457 based upon the "Project Coordinator" role. My employer have told me that I may not have a job in 6 months, so i'm wondering how easy it is to apply to other jobs, and transfer my 457 Visa to the new job... are there any limitations when doing this? I've spoken to a few agencies and they've said they're not interested in putting me forward for roles (although I have 8yrs experience in Financial Services Operations), because its much easier to put forward candidates who don't need to consider transferring a visa. I feel like I'm stuck and its so frustrating. Thanks in advance, Tom
  4. Hi All, I have a specific question that I cant seem to find an answer for anywhere. I really hope someone has had some experience and can advise me :-) Will be greatly appreciated. Currently I'm on a 457 with an agency, so it means I cannot apply for PR because my 457 is held with an Agency (this is what the agency has advised me). One of my options is to apply for de facto through my relationship, but I'm just wondering that if I do this: 1) Will I stay on a 457 Visa until PR is approved? 2) Or will I move onto a Bridging visa? (if so which one) 3) and if i'm on a bridging visa, am i able to apply for other jobs, or do i need to stay in my current job/457 until PR is granted? My worry is that if I apply for de facto, I'm stuck in my current job with my agency for at least 12 months. Thank you in advance, Tom
  5. Hello, I'm looking for some advice on my best options(s) to get a Visa for work in Australia. I'm currently 4 months into a 12 month Working Holiday Visa, and I have no plans to return home! ...so i'm trying to think of the best way to obtain a 4 year working visa, then apply for citizenship. In the UK I was an Operations Analyst / Operations Relationship Manager for a major Bank for 10 years, and I have a degree with HONS in Business Management. I thought it would be easier than it appears to be at the moment. I may just be able to force myself into one of the more generic job roles on the SKILLS LIST e.g. systems analyst or something like that. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. The sort of things I've considered so far are: -Would the 175 Skilled Worker Visa ever be re-opened so i could apply independently? -Has anyone gone through the 'Skill Select' process? Particularly for Management or banking positions. -Are there any specialist agencies that sponsor, and how have these been? e.g. Geoffrey Nathan? -Sponsorship by a business, particularly banking - which are the best Banks to approach, or get my foot in the door? -Do I have any other options or Visa's I've not considered so far? Thanks for reading, and thank you in advance, Tom
