My daughters boyfriend was on a 2 yr 457 from 2015 to 2017. His company applied for a new 4 yr 457 last April but has just been rejected due to the company not applying for a new nomination. He is now under notice to leave. The company can apply for the new 482 visa but he cannot stay in Australia while it is being processed. My daughter is now leaving which is upsetting, has anyone had this experience? Is there a visa he can try to stay in Australia while the 482 is processed? Thanks for your advice in advance.

Hi Please can anyone help me??? I am currently on a 489 regional visa, I have lived here for a year now and worked for a full year. My understanding is as part of the 489 visa restriction you have to work for 1 year and live for 2. I am correct in thinking now I have worked for the full year regional I can now work anywhere???? I will continue to live regional as we are building our new home. How do I provide this information to a new employee who will do a vevo check which states I cannot work anywhere apart from regional for the length of my visa? Any help or advise will be appreciated. Hi can anyone help me. My boyfriend is being sponsored in to join me in Australia and we need some help with his visa. He needs to prove english competency and we have found a document that states he is exempt from needing to do any of the tests because he is a citizen of the uk and holds a valid uk passport and he has also completed at least 5 years of education at secondary or higher level of education. We were wondering if anyone has been in this same situation and how he shows he is exempt? Thankyou!

Thanks, i knew about the two years, did you apply for the same visa 489 or 190, and how long did it take for your invite, it seems that the 190 visa is getting invites more or less straight away.

I submitted my EOI in May based on a 489 regional visa and have heard nothing since, i know they have recently changed the way you apply for any state and regional sponsorship, but i hoped to have heard something by now, anybody else submitted theres and had a positive response or anybody in the same boat as me? Hi I did stage 2 assessment, received my certificate today. Paid $650 I think. I didn't go through an agent, we have friends in Oz who are helping us. I have now submitted EOI and waiting!!!! like you say it's the waiting not being able to plan. good luck I'm sure you will be fine ​

Hi. I have just received my positive assessment back from Vetassess took a total of 15 weeks. I sent my employer ref with all the initial paperwork. They never asked for any further information. ​Good luck
