  1. Perth is a coffin dodgers paradise!
  2. Are you aware that someone who is born in the U.K is twice as more likely to be on benefits than someone who is an immigrant. Not something The Daily Mail likes to report, but a fact none the less.
  3. He can't afford heating, he's on the dole! Have some compassion PB!
  4. So are your " two best mates" and your brother that "works in The Royal Albert Hall" self important arses, or is that just your perception of London in general? I can't say that I share it! Why are you so angry? I just pointed out why I like London, and a few things that help explain why it is one of the worlds greatest cities. It's a cool diverse place that people of all nationalities flock to, isn't it? Brisbane is not! Facts are facts, no need to be so jealous and bitter!
  5. Well, for me.......London is an exciting place to be, it has one foot in the past, and one in the future. This gives it personality and soul. Brisbane is nice, it is pleasant, but it suffers from what all Australian cities suffer from..... It has had a personality bypass, and this is reflected in the people. This is why London is one of the worlds premier cities, and has more tourists than any other. The weather is **** though and there isn't a beach, so if thats all you want out of life, it's not for you. It's not for gentle, fragile people who want a quiet life.
  6. I feel your pain! Escape now, and get back to the land of the living!
  7. Am I missing something? Aldi is an awful shop!
  8. Well, if you think someone who believes in paying his debts is wired in a strange fashion, than so be it! If being honest, and wanting to pay money I owe makes me a superior, than yes, I am. I don't think it does though, it just means I know what is right, and what is wrong. That's the way my parents raised me! If I borrow money, I pay it back! I consider it dishonest not too! I consider it to be theft! Two wrongs do not make a right, and people like you will always go on about, the Banks, the banks the banks! Just because some people in that industry have been fraudsters, does not make it right for everyone who has borrowed money from a bank not to pay it back, does it? I do not like to see anyone suffer, and except that some people have suffered due to the economic climate, and have sympathy for people that want to dig their way out of the trouble thay are in, I have none for people who just want to run away and hide. Again, what would happen if everyone did that? The O.P is honest, and if she was to go about it the right way, she could convince her creditors to except a small monthly payment to clear her debt of 15k, which is not a lot is it? It would be easy to pay it back over a five or ten year period. I've no doubt she will. Have you ever lived in Oz? I have, and while there, I came across a certain type of expat, both from Ireland & The U.K. They would boast about having left unpaid bills back home. Gas bills, electric bills, credit card bills etc etc. They would speak about it as if they were clever for doing so, when in fact, they are just scumbags! This one guy was showing off his new Galaxy S3 that he had got for free, on a 24month contract. He got it, knowing that he was leaving for Brisbane in a month, and had no intention of honouring that contract. He stole that phone, and he thought that it was dead funny. I lost my temper with him! T-mobile make **** loads of cash though right, so it's o.k isn't it? Chavs, robbers and thieves. No more, no less! Let me guess Craigyboy, your about to run off to Australia owing trolley loads of cash. Right? It bugs you that people like me tell you what you are doing is wrong. People such as yourself will then use words like.............. "superior, better than others, narcism, stuck up" to describe honest, decent people who are sick and tired of the likes of you getting away with not paying what you owe, and therefore making it a lot harder for others to get on in life! I could advise you to make a little effort to pay back what you owe, when you get down under. I know that it would fall on deaf ears though. Some people just want to take the easy way out, even if it means losing any self-respect that they had. Just keep blaming all your troubles on the Banks. When you get to Australia, learn from your mistakes, know your limitations! If you took business risks before, don't do it again. We don't want you blaming any of your future troubles on those pesky Aussie banks, do we?

    Back to Leeds?

I always think it's a bad idea for kids of a certain age to be forced to move to Oz by their parents. Oz is a great place to travel around when younger, but living in Oz is for the olds! It's too boring to live there when your in your late teens or early twenties though, and I understand why you want to escape!
  10. No, not smug! I'm just stating my belief that it is wrong to run off to another country while leaving a mountain of unpaid bills behind. It sounds like you have been very unlucky, and yet you are still doing your best to pay, and work your way through your misfortune, and therefore you are agreeing with my point. I'm sure both yours and The OP's problems are not due to overspending, but lets be truthful, most peoples are, and the easiest way out, is for them to run away, and plenty of dishonest people do. Bums!
  11. My point exactly Jules! Where would we all be if we did not pay money that we owe to others. What would society be like if we all, every last one of us, ran away from our bills. As I said, 15k is not a lot for the op to pay back once she gets to Oz! I'm sure she will, she seems to know the difference between right and wrong. It will not happen to me! Why? Because I live within my means, I only buy what I can afford to pay for! I have sympathy for people who get in over their heads and try to fix their problems. I have none for those that run away, and leave money outstanding, and therefore create hardship for others. Are you the poster that got caught up in Borders going belly up?
  12. No, I'm just someone who believes in paying back what he owes. Whether that be a builder, plumber, bank, friend or family! Let me guess what you are. Your someone who has made a mess of their life, and wants to blame everyone but yourself! You are in such a hole that you have to run off to Oz, leaving a trail of unpaid bills behind. Don't worry, you will fit in well......There are loads of Pommie losers down under! Just another sucker on the vine. I just hope you have learnt your lesson, and do not repeat the same mistakes in Oz!
  13. No, I have not! I'm weird like that......I always pay back money that I owe! If a person can afford to immigrate to Oz, then they can afford to pay back £15000, would you not agree? To the O.P.....If you migrate to Oz, tell your creditors and negotiate paying back what you owe. Pay back what you can easily afford. It will not effect your credit rating in Oz! Do not be afraid to be firm with them, tell them that you know that you could get away with paying them nothing, but you don't want to do that. They will bite your hand off! Do not just walk away, have some self-respect! Theft is theft, no matter how you dress it up, or who it is from. Australia is full of Pommie losers who sit around tables and boast about how they got away with not paying this, that and the other. Do you want to be that type of person?

    Be Very Worried

@Northshorepom.....Could you kindly stop trying to ruin this thread with your factual based arguements! Common sense is not welcome here, only DM style hatefulness and panic. When all those criminals come to the U.K, there will be......panic on the streets of London, panic on the streets of Birmingham, Carlisle, Dublin, Dundee and Humberside! If it gets to bad, I'll be forced to move back to Brizzy! Mind you, the thought of sharing my home with one thousand Romanian gypsies, is more appealing than living within a thousand miles of my Aussie in-laws!
