A friend of mine is 885 applicant. He applied In Sep 2012 with 7 bands each. Community welfare. ​He got CO on Friday.

Alhamdulillah I Got PR today. I am cat 5 885 applicant. April 2010 online application. CO allocated 8th January. File sent for external security check but finally I got my PR today. very happy.

My application is still in security check and my CO has asked for passport details of my wife. does this mean that the security check is over? Its been 3 months since its gone in security check

She is under 31 and I crossed 31 before 8 months...

There is no such condition on her visa... so she can apply for further stay.

What about further tourist visa? i have 885 app pending and her name is not in the app. my app has gone for security check so don't k ow when it will be decided.

my wife is on tourist visa and she has no condition like " no further stay" Can she apply for another tourist visa or student visa? she was here on 485 and then had to go for tourist visa. Luckily she got tourist visa after 485 ended but not the tourist visa will end in another one month.

I never got any e mail ffrom my CO. He told me he can't look at my file until he gets clearance about security check and it can take mane months..

my application has gone for external security check because of my religion. You should contact ur CO and ask him what's happening. Good luck

885 application : Applied on 14th April 2010, CO allocated : 8th january 2013. and since then my application was forwareded for external security check and nothing after that. I wonder y they didnt do security check when i applied in 2010. They call it random check but i know i have been selected because of my religion. they have picked me up at the airport too for special screening few times and they say its a random pick. it cant be random everytime and i cant be random pick everytime. they just cant accept that they target only certain people.

I am from India but I am a Muslim, may b that's y I am selected for special security check. I don't have any problem with that but because of this delay my wife will have to go back as our 485 visa expires soon and her name in not on 885 application. My wife was not in Australia when I applied for 885 and hence she won't be getting bridging visa like me. Thats so frustrating. Department should grant her some visa so she can stay with me or else I will live this country forever.
