  1. Dear all, Would love some advice. My new employer has applied to be a sponsor, which took 4 weeks to process. Now they are an approved sponsor, we need to transfer over my 457 visa. Anyone has any experience recently how long it takes to transfer over a 457 visa? It's been 7 weeks since I accepted the job... Cheers, Alice
  2. Hello all, Would love some feedback on how long it has taken your employer to be approved as a sponsor (this company has never sponsored anyone before) and for 457 to be transferred over. Cheers, Alice
  3. Best to approach companies yourself since the recruitment company is bombarded with applicants and with you needing 457, that adds a lot of extra work for them over hiring someone who doesn't need 457. I went through the same thing and found a job myself and the company sponsored me for 457. Good luck!
  4. Hello Anna, My personal experience with recruitment agencies varied. Some are interviewing without even securing the job with the company, hence the role is rather general. Some recruiters will be securing a candidate before gaining exclusive headhunting rights. Hope that makes sense? On the other hand, some are very persistent in actively headhunting for very specific roles in my industry and will be constantly calling for various positions. Regardless, good luck and always follow up with them as well since maybe this role won't work out, but they will keep you in mind for the next. Sincerely, Alice
  5. Hello Tee and Chops1963, Thank you very much for your insights. To complicate things even more...I am also in the process of applying for PR (186) through my current employer. Would the new company have to apply for my 457 AND 186 as well? Thank you again. Sincerely, Alice
  6. Hello all, Have anyone had any experience switching jobs while on a 457 visa? What is it that the company (new sponsor) and employee (me) have to do? Thank you for your help. Cheers, Alice

  8. Hello all, New to the forum and moved to Melbourne last June. Finding it hard to stay active sometimes with my work schedule. Anyone in a social (since I have never played before) soccer team and am looking for new members? Ideally weekdays after work hours since I work weekends too. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Alice
  9. Hey John, Is this a mixed team or guys only? Advanced? Am looking for a beginner's soccer team to join. Cheers, Alice
