  1. Whatever, im not interested in arguing with you..report me for going off topic
  2. Why do u always have to reply wth derogatory comments..first I was pathetic and now disgusting!
  3. http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2011/mar/07/mother-pleads-guilty-three-childrearing Another one
  4. But what abt baby p's mum?...did we all also ask 'what could have driven a mother to do this'??
  5. Maybe..but my desire for everyone to have free will and independence is more...If my child had decision making capacity and asked me to end their life. .I might break the law and do the wrong thing...maybe that's what happened here, we don't know and cant tell from some media reports...I just didnt like how everyone jumped to defend the woman and made assumptions. .children have the same rights as adults and I dnt agree with ppl who feel they have or should have some sort of power over their children..or that they can speak for their child and make their choices...I advocate for children and its so important we dnt forget they are individuals, completely seperate from their parents...no one has 'rights' to treat a child or any other person a certain way wthout their consent and children dnt always have capacity to consent. And on another point I genuinely believe if this couple had a different socioeconomic background reported, some responses would be different.
  6. Its wrong to kill a person in my life, in my work place and in the legal system where I live..regardless of whether that person is younger than you or shares some of your dna or not...
  7. So you believe children have no human rights? this is the problem..ppl over look children and dont hear there voice as some ppl think they are owned by others..There not...I worked in childrens services and this attitude was a big problem which we are trying to get ppl out of the mindset of ppl owning children and seeing them as individuals not someones child/pawn...that woman had no more right to kill those people than I did
  8. I'd pray and not allow a killing..he asked me not to kill and I wouldn't
  9. Being a mother does not grant you some divine power or a higher standing than the rest of us and it definitely does not mean you always act in the childs best interests
  10. It was a valid question actually and not pathetic paulndeb...where do these rights end?? Does it stretch to adoptive parents? Step parents? Surrogate mothers?
  11. Omg! And where do these rights end? Can we have sex with our children? 'I thought he wanted to'???
  12. People are not animals...we eat animals and use them as if we own them....Some ppl treat their children the same way...as in this case but I am more than a dog..I am lucky my mother did not kill me...we hold ppl in higher regard to animals in that we give them choices. ..these children were treated as dogs and had their choices and rights revoked
  13. Anyway we dnt even know the full story..end of the day..its a crime that needs to be punished in order to protect all children and advocate for those who are unable to due to overpowering parents who feel their children have no rights outwith being their child.
  14. And as the children prayed to be saved from their mother killing them..what would he say?
  15. The mother couldn't bear to see her child suffering perhaps...if thats the case she wanted to end her own heart ache and dilemma..that is selfish. ..the kids may have been ill but did they want to die..they were not allowed the right to live because what? A mother didnt want to see her children suffer? There are other options...children are not extensions of ourselves.
  16. So freckleface you think the children asked their mother to kill them? And had the capacity to consent to this?
  17. Maybe u would...others wouldn't Why did the children get no choice in whether the lived or died? Who gave that woman the right to take that choice away from these individuals? If she couldnt cope she could have taken her own life...I have cared for children with this condition .my heart aches for the whole family but being a struggling mother does not give you the right to end someones life
  18. Its a crime..she took a life..a life that was not hers to take..we do not own our children...
  19. What if it was reported...'the unemployed father who claims sickness benefit was on holiday with his new partner and child''..'the mother was in receipt of £1000 a week in benefits and was arrested from her council house '....what if the pic was of a toothless guy with tattoos?...would you all respond wth the same empathy??
  20. I wouldnt have thought it would be diff for us mh nurses..but ahpra can be inconsistent so maybe it depends which office?! Im just glad that part of the process is finished for me!
  21. Good advice marisawright..should prob try stay for citizenship and would make things easier if I did need to go back and forward.
  22. I didnt need proof of date of entry. ..I wonder if any of the ppl who stated they fully registered by posting in ID will reply! I def read ppl saying that
