  1. At no point did I say that they should be locked up
  2. I would suggest you makes plans to not take them around the world.
  3. Thank you. The rudeness of your response just serves to prove my point, which is that some people believe that the rest of the world is duty bound to love their kids as they themselves do. The fact that a person's right to peace is governed onlu by their wealth is an anachronism. Once again, to make it crystal clear this time, no, children do not belong on medium or long haul flights, their boredom and discomfort is exacted on every other passenger.
  4. I have no children by choice, therefore I find it very selfish of those who choose to have them forcing others to be disturbed by them. To clarify, I don't blame kids, I blame parents who put them in the situation they find unbearable at the cost of all other's sanity...
  5. I have a couple of duffles 90L capacity, and pretty much indestructible...
  6. No worries, I only t looked again now. We head out at the end of April to Sydney, will be working in Chullora
  7. We're also heading for Sydney, and like you, we have a feeling we might wind up staying, but that's impossible to judge from here... Thanks by the way, same to you
  8. Personally I'm not too worried, I know some have had bad experiences on a 457, but I am more than satisfied that we just got granted ours, we leave for Australia in just a few weeks, and have no permanent plans as yet, like yourselves. I think in a lot of cases people feel disenchanted with their lot under the restrictions of a 457 visa because they are just looking at it as a mode of getting to Australia here and now, in my case I was offered what you might call an international transfer by my current employer, and decided it was too good of an opportunity to miss, many others, it seems, are just desperate to get to Australia at all costs, for us the 457 makes sense, it gets us there quickly and cheaply for my employers and it gives us the chance to try things on for size...
  9. Whilst I can certainly understand your interest in helping people to quit, raising the price is irrelevant in my personal experience, the money a smoker spends on cigarettes is not, as some would claim, 'extra' money, but money that will be found regardless. The unfortunate truth is that most people (I can't speak for everyone) will only stop when they are ready to do so.
  10. Hi guys, I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I study Kenpo Karate, and am moving to Sydney very shortly, so would be looking for a club to train at, but google is evidently not my friend in this regard. Just wondering if anyone happened to know of any schools in or around Sydney, or at least a martial arts club register I can look it up on? Thanks in advance Simon
  11. Just my personal opinion, not suggesting anyone takes it as more than that, but as an ex-smoker, I still get annoyed at the witch hunt towards cigarettes and smokers these days, to be treated as lepers because of an ill advised decision in their youth does nobody any favours, and wasn't the reason for me stopping. Nor was the constant advertising campaigns telling horror stories, most smokers are well aware that it is unhealthy, but bullying is not gonna make the addiction any easier to break.
  12. Again, thanks guys. (and I use the word in the loosest gender related sense)
  13. Thanks guys. Still letting it sink in, but now it's real
  14. This seems like the appropriate place to quietly scream WOOHOO!!! in best Homer Simpson style:biggrin: Just received email notification that our 457 visa application, lodged about a week and a half ago, has been approved!!! Happy is I
