thanks robertasparrow. i have now arrived in Melbourne (today) after spending 5 days in manly (Sydney) and it was superb but now i am Here i need to find accomadation quickly before family arrive in March. I am spending the next 2 days driving around and visiting the Sanctuary lakes area to see for myself (The wife has set her heart on moving here). The kids too are looking forward to as am i. What ages are the Children? what school do they go to? what is the school like? Cheers Craig

I am looking for some honest feedback on the Sanctuary Lakes area. I am hearing so many stories about the large number of Asian, Lebanese etc families that are setting up their home their and very little British citizens. From someone who does not know the country,i am looking for some advice. I have nothing against these but obviously would like to be in amoungst British citizens to ensure the whole family settle as quickly as possible. As i have posted previously i am flying out on 7th Jan with the Family arriving 2nd March. Please can you help

Hi Elaine Thanks for the response. We are not sure yet but looking at Highton Torquay or up with you at Sanctuary lakes/Point Cook area. My lad has been at Cardiff City and Bristol Rovers and is currently in the Welsh Dev Squad so football and finding him a good team to play in is essential.

As i have posted recently we are moving over soon and i am looking for some advice on Football/Soccer teams for my 14yr old. He currently plays Academy football here in the UK and is seriously concerned about his beloved football. I am looking for team/s that have a good coaching set up and play at a good standard. I have promised him i would fing him something so please can you help me?

I recently posted regarding the Highton and areas to settle upon our move over from the UK, but my dear wife has now looked at the Point Cook area. She has heard that there are issues with Mosquito's, and smell from the nearby refinery . Is there any truth in this? Just i though we knew where we were going to move? Also i am looking for a fully furnished contemporary apartment for a 4 month

Hi ? Sorry didnt catch your name. TBH Highton is the area that we are more drawn to because of the close vicinity to Geelong and as you say Torquay only twenty minutes away. i would be looking to rent for few months until family get over and in that time decide on an area and a house, although we have seen some fantastic contemporary style house around. I would be moving over 1st week in January to start the new job on the 7th so we have a lot to do before i come over, and as you have already experienced the daunting task of actually uping sticks, but leaving family for 4 months will be tough. It would be great to keep in touch and if you don't mind sending you questions as we have more and more i would be extremely grateful Thanks Craig (Filer Family)

Thanks Starlight for that. Yes you are right i would be flying out to adelaide as and when i need to be there. In terms of areas, is the difficult one.

I will soon be moving over to Oz and struggling to find a location. I am travelling alone for 1st few months then being followed by the family which consist of wife and 2 children aged 14 & 10. We are looking for a new house with a modern contemporary feel and looking for some ideas. Kids love their sport and son plays for an academy side whilst daughter is a good gymnast and swimmer. All ideas welcome
