3 years ago today we arrived in Australia!

That's good to know I could never get bored of hearing lovely happy stories of people's new life down under lol, especially after a few years hearing how settled you are, wayyyyy better than doom & gloom things about oz, but I read them too to get a rounded view hopefully... & just hope it works out for us like it has for you's x
  9. I'd say a 8 & half we've got 3 health beautiful kids between us (a daughter each & a son between us) no debts apart from my mortgage which is pretty low so been paying extra off while it is, partner earns enough that he can happily support me while I stay at home with 3 children also finished our lovely extention on house few bits to do inside but we'll get there, I'm doing a childcare course at moment at my son's nursery everyone is really nice there & at college too, it would be nice to have more money. .. but it would only get spent lol.. oh & saving up for Oz starting first lot of paperwork in next month or two we can't wait for something different. .. adventure before we get to old :-)

  11. God that's so horrible for your daughter but even you's two too!, proper eye opener to everyone about Australia law! ...how old fashioned & cruel!!! X

    Welcome Back Hoff

Hey welcome back I pop on here every now & then & yesterday I thought The Hoff... its gotta be you Jim, if not I thought someone has pinched your name lol cos most people called you Hoff anyway haha, just I knew you'd come back x
  14. Ahh do please carry on was enjoying reading about your recci, interesting lol x
  15. I'm not in Aus myself!!! & I've not said people in oz are stupid! I'm saying the way some people treat members on here who are asking for advice treat them like there stupid
  16. Brilliant post totally agree, think most people are open minded to how life will be in Aus anyway but once you get reading plenty of different takes good or bad stories & opinions you get an even better hopefully more realistic prospective of Oz, but for some to treat us like were stupid... It's just plain ignorance, I just them with a pinch of salt, were all different & we'll all soon enough find out for ourselves whether Oz is for us for a few years or for longer..
  17. Good question pb & interesting reading all
  18. 6 days later you've sorted the debt out?? ok lol that was quick!!, sounded like you wanted to do a runner, but now you've paid it off...
  19. Yep I agree my Dad teached me, I've also never been in debt & I'm 36, I've always saved hard for everything I want & everyone that know me knows I'm good at it, it's behond me how people get in debt so easily. I teach my kids about saving & not getting in debt too

What made you throw the towel in ?

I'm sorry but the only person that ever seems rude & totally up your own a*** pp is you! I've followed your post & you confuse people & bite there heads off usually at the slightest comment & then when they try to understand where your coming from you just turn on people so you usually get it back especially the famous thread of your struggling on your joint income of $200, 000 a year (sorry), think that was a bit hard for people to swallow

    Moving to Melbourne Apologises

Ahh glad your coming out of hospital & hope you get well soon, some people are horrible & rude I hope you don't help the selfish people who have sent any nasty pm's to you, they don't deserve your help, people should be grateful if you even reply to there messages never mind help them out personally
  22. I've been thinking I wonder how often ... or if at all do relatives & friends that either you thought would visit you or what about the ones that said they would come & stay with you for a few weeks.. when you & your family emigrated down under, have they?? How often, like once every other year or something? Reason why I ask is... it is quite expensive especially for a family of say 4 or 5 to be able to afford a lovely holiday to visit you x
  23. Been watching Australia's most deadliest attacks on Sky tv, think most people know Australia's got the most deadliest snakes & spiders etc but it's brought home to you that there's loads of insects or animals you don't even think could kill you... like moisqetos (excuse my spelling) Tick's, tinniest of Jelly fish!! or big python in back garden (that got a little boy!) He was ok in end neighbours helped his mummy get it off him, these stories can't be just odd one off's...
  24. Haha I really would if it came to it, I understand a few on here like to wind each other up & it is funny sometimes but quite a few times it's a bit much, especially if your just wanting a bit of info, like I say to my kids sometimes- 'if you can't say something nice don't say nothing at all' lol, there's some really nice & helpful people on here like yourself, its funny because you can tell most of time who the better people are on here & from what I've seen & been reading over past 10 months even before I joined about 96% on are nice & have got some lovely little stories to tell or some great information which we sometimes need over here, also I wouldn't be on here if I wasn't truly interested in emigrating to Australia, I'd have better things to do with my life, I nearly emigrated years ago ( did paperwork etc) but decided against it that was with my now ex partner, years later... older & wiser.. we've only got next few years to do it points wise on the 189 on my partner's trade so it's either now or never for us
  25. Ahhhh bless you big ((hugs)) lol, & thanks for posting everyone's stories/life is different it's nice to here everyone's
