  1. I used to live on the Gold Coast for years...And am returning there this summer (winter Australian time) You can get transport passes called go cards and you can use them on buses and trains. They cost about $5 to buy and then you just keep adding money to them whether it is at a newsagent or on the bus. But yeah, I am not sure if you can purchase them before you get there. Let me know if there is anything you would like to know!
  2. yeah i know but i thought you could reapply?
  3. i always fly with singapore airlines and even when i had a 16hr layover they still transferred my bags over, dont worry about it
  4. i have just moved back to england from the gold coast wish i didnt but i had to because of family reasons..ANYWAYS have so much fun on the gold coast! most amazing place i have ever lived in throughout my whole life no regrets! obviously i dont know where abouts youre going to permanently live but if its anywhere near broadbeach/mermaid beach i would recommend broadbeach state school to send the younger children to! lovely little school
  5. Hey, thanks for the replies... i do have qualifications in travel and tourism. i have an extended advanced diploma. but i understand where you are all coming from.. i have figured out what i am going to do though. i am going to travel there on a working holiday visa, and then i am going to return back to the uk. then i shall apply for a de facto relationship visa, as i have been and still will be in a relationship by then for approx 3 years... you probably will think its not gonna happen cos i am so young, but thats my plan for now and i hope you all respect my decision ps im pretty much 18, i should have said i was 18 instead of 17..
  6. 4 hours goes quicker than you think... your checked in luggage will be transferred onto the other flight for you, all you have to do is make your way from the gate you arrived in to the next gate you intend to leave Singapore Changi Airport from...it should only take you a short time to move from each gate, and there is also a quick train that takes you there. so you will definitely have time to look around the shops, grab a bite to eat etc i would also recommend heading up to the snooze lounge if you are really tired as its much quieter and there are beds available there. also there is a 24hr food outlet so whatever time you travel you dont go hungry! luggage wise..i have never locked my luggage and no one i know really does, it is pretty safe however if you are really carrying something valuable just get a lock on it...preferably an official one that the immigration staff can open without you if need be.
  7. why don't you just get a working holiday visa that will last you 12 months, work for a company and if they want you permanently get sponsorship from them and apply for permanent residency after 2 years?
  8. but i thought you were only allowed to work for a specific company for a 6 month period? that sounds so great though! is it a really complicated process to do that sponsorship thing?
  9. Hey Everyone! I'll just quickly explain my story... I am 17 years old and have had to move back to the UK because I can't stay alone until I am 18 obviously and my parents wanted to come back. Anyways I was almost a permanent resident but then I missed out and now I am not. When I am 18 years old I wish to return by myself to live...But I don't know what visa to choose. I looked at Student Visa but to do a course is like $19,000 just for a year so I looked at the Skilled Migrant Visa and the industry I have qualifications in...Travel and Tourism, is not on the list I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO! what visa should i try and get now? Thanks Guys!

It is one of the best parts of my life so far moving out there!
