  1. Hi rajmunbd I got my visa label stamped in April and it took me 6 days, probably because I did not go through VFS (also saved money of VFS's service charge). I made appointment to the High Commission on email and submitted documents straight to them and picked my passport after 6 days. Please check VFS's online status; else write to the HC directly mentioning your concern. Jack from Perth
  2. Belated congratulations!!! I am browsing PIO after many days just to see if you have been given your due. I am so happy for you; you have done so much for the thread members by encouraging, advising, sharing... I wish you the best for your future.
  3. Yes, end of year is good time for moving in; plenty of new jobs will come out at that time. Also you will have discounts/bargain deals for many things. Renting in advance in possible, though not very easy. Here landlords look for references from previous rent history. Give a look at http://www.airbnb.com or http://reiwa.com.au for short-term rentals. Then once you are here look for your suitable rental and move there. One advice, please do not jump in the lucrative(unbelievably cheap) rental ads at gumtree.com.au; these are often scams. Rent for a 2 bedroom house in WA starts from 300 $ per week excluding utility bills. Even rent at this rate is difficult to find. I am living near Rockingham and my 3 bedroom house costs me 360$ weekly.
  4. Big CONGRATULATIONS!!! When are you flying? I'm in WA too.
  5. Hi folks I arrived in Perth on 6th May. So far loving Perth very much. Looking forward to meeting people, hang out and expand network. Anyone up there for a chat and coffee? Plz PM for my number or email address.
  6. Hello theworm, how are you doing? Any update on your grant? I'm flying to WA in the 1st week of May.
  7. Dear bro, I emailed you, please check the email you used to register Pomsinoz. If you did not receive my email, please PM me your email once again (sorry I could not locate your PM you referred) Cheers!
  8. Thanks mate, I will write to you soon from my email. Cheers!
  9. <p><p>hi my mail id is <a href="mailto:" rel="">engr.mehdi.hasan@live.com</a></p></p>

  10. Hi, I hope you are already in Perth by now. I have booked my flight for May and initially I will stay near Mandurah. I tried to PM you my email address but it seems sending messages is blocked by you. If you have no problem, please PM me your email, I will write to you then and discuss further. Cheers!
  11. Your agent is the legal authority to enquire about your case status. So the Case Officer will not respond to your query, rather ask your agent to send an enquiry if you are not hearing anything for 5/6 months.
  12. I'm a BD applicant so I don't know if my experience on Visa Stamping would have any relevance with your perspective... I got the passports stamped because it is, to me, an investment for next five years. Although I could do without the visa stamps, but you know you will make your life easy for the next 5 years in the situations where you will have to produce your visa status. Plus, you might want to visit other countries from Oz and you eliminate the trouble of spending time looking for information if that country or the transiting countries acknowledge Grant Letter. You will have to give evidence of your visa status for certain services like buying phone, having loan, Centerlink, Medicare, TFN and what not. Things are easier with visa stamped. I believe spending AUD70 is worth it. I applied for visa stamping and it took the high commission 1 week to deliver, with no question asked. Re requirement of return ticket: for migrants and students (if not a short course), no need of return ticket, one-way ticket is is obviously rational because you are flying to settle in where you might not have an immediate plan to return. Its the airlines who will issue you boarding pass, the immigration officer has, in principle, nothing to do with the tickets (I know even then some stupid BD, PAK, IND immi officers poke their noses in). Cheers!!! Jack
  13. Congratulations! One of my colleagues had the same issue and he informed the CO, did the passport and MC for the new baby after a few months and finally the grant came along in due course.
  14. All nominated options will offer same services. If your residence is close to Prescription Point, it's fine going with them. I did mine at Medinova (Dhanmondi). The appointment process, and actual health screening activities were pretty simple and all took me a few hours in that morning. They uploaded my reports in time as well. I spent BDT 3,000/person.
