  1. Hello everyone, We have finally had our permanent residency visa granted and we are going to be moving to Adelaide in March/April next year. I'm looking for any information to help me start my search for employment. I'm classified under the Community Nursing category and my specialism is Diabetes Nursing. Does anyone have any good contacts for nursing employment in Adelaide?? Any contacts or recommendations for employment agencies etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jodi
  2. Dear All, Thank you in advance for your help. We have begun the process of applying for our subclass 189 visa and I was wondering if anyone out there who has previously applied can answer some of my questions..... 1) On the on-line application form it shows on the 'Next Steps' section, that the documents to be uploaded are 'recommended'. It then states, please see the 'attachment checklist' for guidance as not all documents may be required. When you click on the 'attachment checklist' link, it fails!! My question is, do we need to provide all documents if they show as recommended or only if they show as 'required'? 2) Regarding the health checks, I have looked at the recommended list of places that carry out health checks. My husband reckons we can get the blood tests done at our own GP and then only pay for the x rays and examination privately. My view is go to the recommended place and get it all done at the same time. Any thoughts? Also, as I understand it, my children aged 3 and 5 will need their own health examinations but not CXR's or bloods. Is this correct? 3) Does anyone know how long we have to complete the application once it has been started? I read somewhere that we have 60 days but I'm not completely sure..... 4) I'm going to be working as a nurse so I'll need to get extra blood tests completed for hep b and c status, however, my husband is overweight and the guidance states that he MAY have to have extra fasting bloods done. Does anyone know if this is always the case? I have tried to look all these things up online already without success - hence why I am on here asking you guys! I really appreciate your help in answering my queries. Thanks again, Jodi
  3. Hi all, I'm trying to complete my registration form for the Australian Nursing Board but i'm struggling a bit. Can anyone who's filled it in remember what they had to do? I have requested my university transcrips and am just waiting for them to arrive. I'm strugging with part 13 - a statement of service from your employers over the last 5 years. Does this really mean I need to get statements from every employer from the last 5 years?? And then there's section 26. Have you completed 5 years full time equivalent education.....?? I'm completely lost by this question!! Would really appreciate any help from anyone who has managed to fill their form out successfully :-) Many thanks, Jodi.
  4. Thanks. Sounds lovely! I'm a Diabetes Specialist Nurse so I'm not sure if that will influence our destination. I'm about to start my application to the Australian Nursing Register. Once that's done I can start looking for sponsorship. Thanks for your advice
  5. Thanks! Was really hoping for some recommendations of suburbs/towns etc. I can research til I'm blue in the face but opinions and recommendations really help.
  6. Dear all, We would really appreciate any help and comments on this! We are a youngish family of 4 at the very beginning of our immigration process. We definitely want to make the move having thought about it long and hard, discussing it with our friends and family and saving up the funds we will need to emigrate. Our children are 2 and 4 and our primary thought is housing. Obviously we will need to rent a 3 bed house initially. We really like the idea of living in Perth but have been told that renting property is very very expensive. Would we be better starting in Adelaide? Clearly schooling is important also and our jobs. We are planning to emigrate on my visa since I am a registered nurse. I would value any comments or suggestions/ideas on good places to live (near to a coast), that are reasonably priced for renting and that are suitable for bringing up our children. Thanks in advance, Jodi:biggrin:
