I have a real dilema and it looks like many people have the same issue
my self and husband are from the UK and moved over here in our early 20's
We have lived in Australia for 7 years we moved to brisbane from Sydney 18 months ago as we wanted to settle and set up a home and have a family - sydney s great for the party scene but not if you want buy a home for a reasonable price
We got jobs in brisbane and made the move but have never felt settled especially as we are renting we have looked for a year for an area to live and buy our first home with no luck just cant find a place we want to live to bring up a family
We have kind of decided on Cleveland, Wellington point way as house prices are slightly cheaper and we can get a big family home there and seems a lot of English live there so will feel homely the problem is will we finally feel settled and feel at home if we buy a house as its a huge commitment
I think i feel so unsettled as we rent but now i am 3 months pregnant the process of decision making is so much more urgent
As we are getting older the pull back to the UK is so strong but given we have been here for 7 years we have nothing back home (execpt family and friends which we are extremely close to) and would have to start again no idea even where we would live jobs etc
What i want to know is are we living in a dream world where the Uk is perfect what is it really like and given we miss family and friends so much should we just go home but with no jobs is it even possible
I know on paper this is the perfect place for us to raise a family and if we buy a house we will feel settled but i have this constant voice saying i should just move home where family and friends are especially now we are having a baby
Very difficult dicision any advice would be great!
