  1. That was November last year
  2. We'll wait til August and den we'll have over a year to show
  3. Cheers for the replies. Ya we will get a statement off her dad. Although he doesn't live there. He owns the house. We have plenty of paperwork for nearly a year so hopefully it's enough. On my pr application my agent didn't use our address but my old address. Could they question why we didn't lodge together and why I had a different address or would this not be a problem as this is a totally different application?
  4. Sorry we gave both been in the same country since may last year when we started a serious relationship. We are living together almost a year but most of this time has been in a house her dad owns so our names aren't under a lease but we do have plenty of other evidence to show us living together there. I didn't include her on my pr application because at the time my agent said we would definitely not have had enough evidence. We thought to ourselves for me to ahead with it and we'll go down the defacto route if I get it. At the time I wasn't very confident of getting residency myself and we are then happy to be even in this position
  5. I'm just wondering what's the best route me and my girlfriend should go down and if we have enough evidence to do it for defacto. I'll explain the situation. I lived in Australia between may 2008 and may 2012. Unfortunately I stayed unlawfully for nearly three of these years but since then I have done my vetassess, Ielts, Medical, police checks etc. applied for visa subclass190 and am delighted to say just recently my residency was approved. I first met my girlfriend in oz in aug 2009 and we dated for a few months but her visa ran out and then she moved to nz in November 2009. She travelled back and forth from nz over the following year to me before moving back to Ireland in December 2010. We kept in contact for the following year and a half but this was mainly through only text and Facebook. When I arrived home in may last year she was the first and only person I met at the airport even though I hadn't seen family in four years. We then rented a place together but only for two months due to work commitments. We then moved in together in her hometown in aug 2012 into a house her dad owns. We then opened a joint bank account, got insured on car together and also have many other things with proof of address. The only thing is we are not on a lease and my name is not on any bills. I can get letter off real estate we rented off for two months though. Other evidence we have us wedding invitations, holidays together in Spain and Portugal, weekends away, loads of receipts, and plenty of photographs. Is this enough? We didn't apply together on my application as I had only been home few months and we weren't living together long enough. Even though I had been living with my gf my imm agent put my home address on my application. Could this b a problem? What would be best onshore or offshore?? She doesn't really want to chance going in on a tourist visa though. Also would I have had to spent a considerable time in Australia as a resident before she applies. Any feedback would b excellent. Thanks
  6. Cheers Lou. Ya dell if you only have 55 points and are going for the 190 you would have enough points as you get an automatic 5 points to make the 60
  7. It looks like ill have to put the head down and study harder so. Good luck to ye too.
  8. Ya I know. It's so annoying especially as I thought that it would be enough with 7's. cheers nic.
  9. Hi all, Ive just got a few issues regarding to 190 visa. I know it's 60 points to apply which I thought I had. I am 30 years of age. I have completed and passed my skills assesment, vetassess electrician general. I did the ielts only recently and got, reading 8.5,listening 8.5,speaking 8.5 and writing 7. I lived and worked in my trade in Australia in 2009 2010 so that's 12 months work experience in oz and I get an automatic five points applying for the 190 so: age: 30 skills: 10 ielts: 10 work ex: 5 visa: 5 So 60 points. But just as I thought I would b applying for the EOI this week my agent in Australia has told me I only have sufficient evidence to show I worked 9 months in oz. Regrettably I worked a few years illegally which doesn't count and I only have two years experience outside of Australia which isn't enough for points. Im just wondering is there been anybody else who had been a position similar??????? Is my only option going to be to try and get all band 8's in that bloody ielts to get 20 points??? I really will hate doing it again as I feel I really have done best I could already. I knew I'd find the writing the hardest. It's annoying havin to do all of them again as I am worried ill slip up in maybe reading or listening even if I do well in the writing. It's only a money racket. So if this is the way I have to go can anybody reccomenend any books or sites especially for the writing. Or is there another way???? Any feedback would be excellent. I must say I've really found this site great help since I first came across it before I did my vetassess last year, Cheers Mark

    190 visa and ielts???

Hi all, I just got a few issues regarding the 190 visa. I thought originally I had 60 points which is enough. I am 30, I have completed my skills assesment ( electrician general ) . I did the ielts where I received, listening 8.5 reading 8.5 speaking 8.5 and writing 7. I spent a year and four months in oz in 2008 2009 so a years work experience in my trade in oz or so i thought. And applying for 190 is automatic 5 points. Age: 30 Skills assess: 10 Ielts:10 Work exp:5 190: 5 But now my agent in Australia has told me I do not have sufficient evidence to prove I worked for 12 months as an electrician in oz. I only have enough to show 9. Unfortunately I regrettably worked a few years illegally too so that can't b used and I only have two years experience qualified outside of Australia. So now it looks like I have to drop five points which leaves only 55. I am just wondering has anybody been in a position similar. Is there any way gaining more points or am I going to have to get all band 8's in the ielts. I really don't wanna do the ielts again because I reckon that was nearly best I can get or that ill get a 8 in writing and then mess up in another one and get 7. It's so frustrating having to do them all again. Bloody money racket. And if so does anybody know good books or sites that are of help for all band 8's Any feedback would b great. Must say this site has been a great help to me over the past six months or so, Cheers, Mark
