Hi all, I need your help on my 189 visa understanding that you all have good understanding of the current rules regarding the visa.This is my long term dream to get the PR and was working on it from long. The current status is that ACS was successfully done in Aug 2012 on 261313 skill of Software engineer with 6+ year experience. IELTS - 6 band in 2013 Oct. I tried IELTS many times however one of the sections was always in the 6 band. Now by 2013 end, I completed 8 year experience in my profession, it had given me the minimum score to apply for EOI with 60 points. I got the invitation to apply for visa on 23rd Mar. I was going thru all the forums to understand any risks before putting my whole savings into applying for the visa. I am applying for my wife and kid as well so the total amount comes huge. The latest i understood is there is a rule change in ACS which is deducting initial 2 years from exp while assessing. I am confused how it will impact my visa. If it is applied by DIAC in my case, then I will be left with only 6yr exp which says i am not eligible for applying and I will loose my money. please note that i didn't do any new ACS assessment when my experience turned 8 years late 2013. Please guide me any risk in my application. I am doing this alone without any agent, hence really worried. My EOI expires at 23rd May so any urgent help will be really useful. Many thanks Prasanth

Hi Alonsd, I am also planning to file the visa shortly. I got an invite last month. Could you please tell me which all docs need to be uploaded and when to be uploaded? As of no, I can see only the details to be filled in in the immi account, no details of attachment yet. Also I would like to know when to do the payment, can I do it from debit card also ? Hi Rupert, I am aware of the visa fee structure and I am including my spouse and child in the EOI submission. I hope the visa fee of 3000 AUD will take care of their process as well. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks Prasanth

hi bubbe, My initial plan was to apply for 189. but i missed IELTS by0.5 band.. I rebooked my IELTS for a later date now , but it is time consuming.. I would like to know is there any benefit, if I apply for 190 with 60 points?

hi all, Since Iam not using any migration agent for my process, I would like to know how the process will be after the EOI submission? I know that it depends up on the points and accordingly will receive the invitation. can you please clarify what all will be the steps involved?

Thanks Om. I have planned my IELTS again in the next slot available. Reg 190, I think the band required in IELTS is 6.5 in all states. And in the EOI, I can submit the state which I am planning, so it will not be like any state can sponsor.
