  1. CONGRATS megawatts, good luck to everyone still waiting!
  2. Hi all, I haven't posted on this thread in a while but wanted to share some good news. I got my 457 visa approved yesterday! applied 21/6, medical 26/6, referred 9/7 , finalised 26/7 and final approval 1/08. ( just in time as booked flights 13/8) I called my CO a few days after the status changed to finalised on e- tracker, and she processed the rest of my visa same day. This does seem to suggest it is GH, and not the CO which changes the status, as she had not noticed that they were finalised, and not taken further action until I called. Just a thought. Best of luck to those still waiting, I hope you all hear soon as those sleepless nights are really awful. Hope you hear soon
  3. I never got through to global health. But today I checked and health requirements finalised! So applied 21st, medical 26th June, referred 9th July and health req finalised 26th. Still awaits final approval. Good luck to all those still waiting- maybe global health are starting to get their act together!
  4. Thanks for your advice and info megawatts. I was trying for 2hrs then at 2am I gave up. I did get through to my CO in Perth who was helpful and didn't seem worried. My advice would be for people to get in touch with their CO as well so they can keep an eye out for the medical report as soon as it is done and avoid further delay (assuming everything else is good to go) I think I will try again tonight- just in case- of a technical error. Here's hoping Also if you are not sure why you got referred then this document is worth a look. Just click the PDF. It is aimed at the panel doctors, but gives guidelines on what should and shouldn't be referred. If there is a serious or acute problem the panel doctor should get in touch with you directly, and refer appropriately. If this hasn't happened it is probably nothing major. http://www.immi.gov.au/gateways/panel_doctors/conducting_medicals/instructions/ In my case the only things I could think of were a heart murmur (very minor), or being short sited- NEITHER of which should have been referred. SO I am hoping the panel doc was just over cautious, and it just needs someone to have a look at the file and tick the box. *fingers and toes crossed* for everyone
  5. It's so frustrating! I've tried calling but I just get a recorded message. I've tried emailing and I've had no response after 5 days. And I'm healthy! I don't even know why I got referred! (july 9th, still waiting...)
  6. I feel your pain. My boyfriend and I are also going on a 457 (hopefully) and also both work in healthcare. We applied on the 21st June, and had medicals on 26th June. Whilst his results were all ok on 6th July, mine got referred over on July 9th. To the best of my knowledge I am fit and well, the doctor didn't say he flagged anything up and the clinic I went to say they have no record now my results have been sent electronically. Was hoping to fly on the 13th August, as starting work on the 20th August, but just don't know how realistic that is given the current backlog. It's all very worrying! Takes a wk just for the CO to reply to an email, let alone for anything to seem to happen! Is there any chance the CO could give the sydney office a nudge do you think?
  7. Hi there. Would it be worth bringing a 2007 Toyota Aygo 1.0L/ automatic/ 38000miles to Bunbury, WA UK value approx £3500 Australia value- unknown (they don't seem to have aygos there, but the same yaris retails for AUS$10-15000 Or also have a 2005 Nissan Almera 1.5L/ manual/ 77000miles UK value- £1500 Austalian value- also unknown- they don't seem to have almeras either (!) Sorry for missing data but guestimate based on your experience would be much appreciated Thanks, Sarah
  8. Does anyone know if you are entitled to the extra baggage allowance on a 457 visa?
