  1. Hi, I was approved in early December last year and had my citizenship ceremony two weeks ago, in Brisbane. hopefully your invitation will come any day now.
  2. Hi I applied for citizenship 1 May 2020, had test/interview 13th November in Brisbane, approval 11th December and earlier this week I got invited for the ceremony on Monday the 30th in Brisbane city. I received invitation from the council on email and letter in the post. am looking forward to becoming a citizen and getting a Aussie passport
  3. I am waiting for the Brisbane council too, like you, my application was approved in November last year. I have emailed and called several times and it is pretty much a waste of time. I have never received a reply to any of my emails. I hope you will get your invitation soon, I will let you know when I get one.
  4. I had test/interview in mid-November 2020, approved mid December 20 after submitted more information. I am still waiting for the ceremony invitation to Brisbane. I saw there is a ceremony on my birthday in May so am hoping for that day, that would be pretty awesome.
  5. Dear Sordello I am really sorry to hear that, my condolences to you and your family.
  6. No, I am not asking for any special considerations, am just asking. It is still allowed to ask questions and be naive I would like to think
  7. Can I ask why you requested an urgent ceremony if you don't mind? I had my application approved in middle of December last year , am in Brisbane and there is a good chance my partner might get offered a job overseas in a couple of months, and then we will both leave Australia for a while. I really want my ceremony to have taken place before that and am just wondering if it is worth asking for that when we don't have a proper offer yet.
  8. Hi all It is great to read more are receiving ceremony invitations. My test/interview got approved 13 December in Brisbane city, am waiting for the ceremony invitation now We recently moved to the Gold Coast but I haven’t changed my address as we still have access to our house in Brisbane and I can imagine Brisbane might be faster than the Gold Coast but I could be wrong. Time will tell.
  9. I can imagine a lot of us approved will have the ceremony on Australia Day in January. Fingers crossed for you as well.
  10. 13th November in Brisbane and then I had to submit further information which was finalised 11 December. From 12 December it says my application for citizenship has been approved on my immi account. I ask about the ceremony date letter as I am travelling around the state a bit the coming months and don’t want to miss the date..
  11. Hi My citizenship has been approved does anyone know if I will receive my citizenship ceremony date letter on email or postal letter? many thanks.

  15. Hi I hope you all are keeping well. I finally applied for my citizenship, fingers crossed! I noticed on the home affairs website, it says they are looking into having the citizenship ceremony online due to covid-19. I'm wondering if anybody know anything about having Interview/test online for citizenship application as an option? Many thanks.
  16. Hi I'm wondering if anybody have had success applying for citizenship from overseas? I can apply 1 May but my Australian partner have a job offer to start February/March overseas and I would like to go with him and then apply but I do wondering if it will be a NO just because I'm overseas. We have his family here, two homes we own and I got my own limited company which I will continue to have from overseas as I work online. I do voluntary work here as well. We do plan to live here again in a couple of years and will be here for a month or every year. I got PR with skilled migration and I have been with my partner for almost 12 years. I do know a couple of months apart will be okay if needed. But if we can avoid it, I would prefer that. I look forward to hearing back from you. Many thanks.
  17. Hi I had a look on the immi website and does state a partners work overseas can be added as a reason. I will give them a call and see what they say
  18. Many thanks for the info. I got five RRV early this year. I was traveling due to my Australian citizen partners work so am hoping I can add that as reason when his company give us a letter stating that. Im on a skilled migration PR visa.

  20. Hi everyone Forgive me if this have been answered before. I moved to Australia 1 May 2016 and was planning on applying for citizenship 1 May next year. The last couple of years I have been traveling overseas a lot but this year, my forth year here Im under the 90 days outside of Oz. While I was traveling I was working online for Australian companies and paying tax here. I did the resident calculator yesterday and it says I can apply until February 2022, which doesn't make sense to me at all. Do you know if I can call someone who can tell me the precise date? Or look somewhere else? I was not traveling that much but more than six months last year. Many thanks.
  21. Many thanks for your comments. It means I can apply May next year
  22. Many thanks. I think I will do it myself too. My main question is when to apply, do I have to wait until I have lived here four years or can I apply after 3 years giving the waiting time.
  23. I hope all are keeping well. I’m wondering if anyone can recommend any immigration lawyer? I have some questions about when to apply for Australian citizenship? I still have a year or so to go with PR, I think but as I’m a planner I would like to know for more certainty. Plus I believe there is a long waiting period after submitting the application. many thanks.
  24. Hi @paulhand Many thanks for your help. I will apply soon again and see how it goes.
