  1. Hi, We now have our visa and are planning to make the move about early April. We have a wee pug who will be 1 in December. Hope you dont mind me asking, but how much does it cost to get the dog there. It doesnt matter anyway we would never leave him now, he is part of the family. Also trying to get rough estimates of shipping our belongings. Any help appreciated. Cheers Paul
  2. Hi all, Paul Stevenson here. Lodged 175 visa on 11th June and was allocated a CO 13th August. I have sent away for police checks and have medicals booked for 4th September in Edinburgh. Sorry I took so long to update.
  3. Hi everyone, Glad I found a 175 thread, as the majority seem to be goin for 176. We have an agent working on our behalf and our application was submitted on 11th June. The reason we decided to go with the 175 was the timescale that we were told, we decided this would give us more time to save etc. It now seems that they are being processed pretty quick, in some cases 4 month from application to grant. Now that all the hard work is done I am glad they are going quick, as I have managed to secure a job on the oil rigs and am planning to go over about 3 month before my wife and kids to set us up with schools and house etc. I currently work on the rigs in the UK , but my wife isnt too keen on me working away from home once we move, so my plan is start off on the oil rigs then on my leave I will find a good job at home or even on the mines as I believe this will be a 7on 7off rota rather than 2/2, and it would make it easier for my wife as I'm sure she would be fine for a week on her own. Anyway thats my plans, and we are currently waiting to be assigned a CO, so as soon as my status changes, I will let yous know. Could someone tell me what "being changed to pink means". Fingers crossed all your applications go through quickly, and for myself too of course. Cheers Paul

  5. Hi, I lodged my application on 11th June for myself, my wife and 2 boys 6 and 4. We have a agent working for us who has uploaded all our docs accept for the medicals and police checks. I filled out the form 80 for me and my wife. We have been advised from her that when we have a CO they will ask us to get the medicals and police checks. Keep us updated when assigned a CO etc, and I will do the same, the sooner the better. Cheers Paul
  6. Hi, Does anyone have any contacts for vacancies in the mines of WA. I am a metal fabricator, and currently work on the oil rigs in the UK and fancy working in the mines when we finally get granted our visas. I am also an IRATA level 3. Cheers Paul
  7. Thanks alot for the advice, appreciate it, Looks like its not gona be long, am worried now lol the reason we chose the 175 was to give us more time, but suppose now its lodged I just want to get there ASAP. Thanks Again Paul
  8. Hi everyone, I am new to this site and I am looking for some info, and some good advice. I hve just passed my IELTS and vetassess practical and our application was lodged on 11/06/2012. I have contacted my agent to try and get a time scale, but all she could give me was that I should be assigned a case officer within 3 month. Does anyone have a rough idea of how long it is taking at the moment to get accepted once a CO has been assigned? My self, my wife and my 2 boys 6 and 4, will be moving to Perth or surrounding areas. I currently work offshore in the UK and I have managed to get a job to go over to, working on the Australian oil rigs. This will be on a rota so I dont necessarily have to be anywhere in particular. Can anyone give some good advice on areas to start reasearching to rent a place, the most important thing is good schools near bye. Would be nice to be close to the beach and places with good rental prices. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul
