  1. Hi all does any body know what has happened to this company as all their websites and emails are down and have seen on another website that they have gone into administration?
  2. You will be sorry when the mover goes bust because they are being pushed to braking point on price and not even a 10 % margin and your goods are on the sea with no body to sort out the hassle of a shipping container not paid customs etc. price is not always profit.
  3. The way to work out cubic feet is to measure item hight width length in inches then multiply three then divide by 1728 gives item size in cubic feet. Example chest of drawers. 48 high 36 wide 24 deep. So 48 x36x24= 41472 / 1728 = 24 feet. Then multiply by pound per foot rate from mover to aus should be £4.90 area. So cost is 24 x £4.90 = £117.60 To ship. Hope you follow. To get your mover cubic feet rate divide price by est volume. Example. £2470 for 504 cubic feet = £ 4.90 per foot.
  4. There is so many factors that make the costs for a 20ft container that to try and compare on here is daft such as uk location aus destination these can make price differences of £300-£400 and $500-$600 over there, most good companies will be in the same area on price as all have costs to pack ship and deliver which are very close to each other. Please remember that to put together a good overseas move has lots of costs so to cut corners on price only reflects in service. I mean you wouldn't get on a 747 to fly to aus if it only had three engines but was 5% cheaper!
  5. Hi. Most shippers will take a deposit then invoice you once job has been started and goods are enroute. Just make sure you use a company bonded by bar overseas it's called the advanced payment and works like abta/atol with your holidays and this makes sure that your move is done to completion should the company fall down.
  6. The cost of shipping works out to be charged at £ 5 .45 per cubic foot. So a standard 4 ft removal boxes works out to be £21.80 ( subject to a minimum amount of around 100 cubic feet. This should be door to door within 30 miles of any major city. To add to this you need to add aqis fee plus insurance.
  7. Just wondering if anybody else had heard that pickfords had gone into administration, and we're do you stand if you had booked with them or stuff is on the way to aus.
  8. target price for 20ft container should be around 4k depending on uk location plus quis plus insurance total cost should be around 4.7 k if you take about 20k insurance with removal company
  9. I have shipped a 29ft yacht on a trailer before with personal effects. Outboard motors small rip type craft all in with personal effects provided the boat will go through the door of container.with regard to regs that is something you will have to find out from aus but would thing the boat will be fine just the trailer would need approval but only a guess. PM if you want a price.
  10. Just a thought to see who has moved thinks that the moving company is making a profit on there move .?
  11. A caravan can go into a forty foot high cube container as long as it is narrower than 89 inches and no taller than 99 inches this would fit with around 800 ft of personal and household effects walled up at the front of the container. I have done this many times for all the major shippers and with regard to compilance you would need to apply for vehicle approval same as a car. Cost for the whole job should be around 6 k door to door for the effects and collect the caravan at depot.
  12. £4000-£4200 is about the going rate for a full service on a 20 ft sole use door to with all the packing loading shipping customs del and unpacking plus ins and aqis.
  13. you can combine your bike in with your personal effects into a 20 ft container with the bike in you will have around 900cubic foot of space left and depending on your location in the uk would cost between £3800 and £4000 plus insurance plus AQIS plus import taxes plus cost of swapping dials etc.
