  1. We renewed our British Passports here, yes more expensive to renew them here but better to be safe than sorry.

    Counting down!

June 2014. 11 months and counting!
  3. Thanks for the tip. Going to get a quote from Dogtainers, we're taking two large dogs and a cat back and we were prepared to go with Jet Pets.
  4. Not looking forward to the what did you come back HERE for questions and finding a job and a rental that will accept our two dogs and a cat.
  5. I have this heavy feeling too. When I go home I can literally feel my shoulders drop down in to place and it makes me realise how uptight I am here.
  6. Great post Jules  Just like you and Thistle, I too am going back to Scotland! I cant wait to feel at home again. When I've gone back for holidays I just feel like a massive weight is lifted off my shoulders, I relax, smile and laugh more and just feel like myself.
  7. I've been here 9 years and haven't bothered trying to make friends for probably the last 5 years. Too hard and I decided that you shouldn't have to try to be friends with someone, it should come naturally. Some people might just think its me, but I went back to the UK for 5 years in 1998 and made lots of friends very easily.
  8. If the peppers were only $6.99 here in Perth I would buy them! Ours are at least $9.99!

    Welcome Mygirlies

This group is like a breath of fresh air compared to MBTTUK, shame really.
  10. Hi Everyone I am so happy that this group has been set up (thank you M2M). I joined PIO quite a few months ago now with every intention of joining in conversations about returning to the UK. I can honestly say that I was too scared to get involved after reading some shocking responses to threads. Now looking forward to being able to speak without being made to feel like like there's something wrong with me.
  11. Second time in Aus, been in Perth 9 years. First time lived in Melbourne for about 10. Looking at going home in the next 18 months
  12. Hi Emma We opened a British Pound account with HSBC as we currently don't have an active account in the UK. When we get back to the UK and activate my account we'll be able to transfer the money over.
  13. Speaking from experience, it's no better the second time round if you weren't that happy with it the first time. If you have a nice life in the UK my advice is don't give it up.
  14. Hi, I've just joined after reading some posts on MBTTUK for a week or so. You'll be home before you know it - lucky thing! Oh I'm also in Perth..... Aus, not Scotland unfortunately :daydreaming:
