  1. Hi Everyone. I am looking for like minded parents in Perth to share babysitting with every once in a while to give parents who have migrated a bit of a break and a chance to have some 'me time' together,as hiring a babysitter in Perth costs a small fortune and I thought it would be easier to have a small group of trusted families to share babysitting with and give the kids a chance to meet other kids in similar situations. I was talking to a mother from England the other day in work and she was saying with her Husband in the mines on a 3:1 roster how she finds it hard to get any time to herself with 3 kids. I only have one girl but with no family or friends over here I sympathized with her. I have found the whole relocation thing nerve racking and I reckon I cant be the only one that misses the support of family and friends at home so if you like the sounds of it drop me a line on this and we can sort out a time to have a coffee. I am located NOR. Thanks lads. :cute:
  2. In fairness I know of people setting their airline dates back two months because of problems so I am sure this wouldnt be a problem .. Really hope it pops up in the move for you..Theres nothing worse.. best of luck!!
  3. Does this apply to both state sponsor application and employer sponsored or just state.. probably a stupid question but how and ever...
  4. Hi DaveS, I could be totally wrong here and I hope I am but I thought with Australia that your passport had to be valid for 6 months prior to entry? I can remember having a moment about this when I thought my daughters was out of date a few weeks ago?? Also your visa is tracked to you by your passport number so I would advise your CO of your situation straight away or maybe ring this number its the Visa Migration and Citizenship Office for Australia High Commision in London ( time difference is always a bit of bother) 020 7420 3690 they might be able to give you advice. Hope it all works out!!
  5. Oh my god 3 days thats fantastic ... it must be just luck with case officers and what not,on second thoughts it may take longer for me as a secondary applicant on his visa ( sent onshore ) because i have both Canadian and Irish citizenship?? JHampa I might get him to get the girl thats doing it for the company to contact them ..see if we can push it along! e was talking to her today and she said they definitely have to have read through everything by now and would have got back to them if anything was missing, so no news is good news ... I hope anyways. its so frustrating though, I have prepared myself for it to take until October but at that its stretching it a bit far! Seems some get lucky and everyone else is in the same boat ... rajeevkumar and the_whites I'll keep my fingers crossed for you , hope everything sorts itself out soon!! My Husbands company also sent it via registered post so that seems very odd that the money hasnt even been debited , you'de think they would be straight onto that!!! Thanks for the replies nice to hear different stories from people in a similar situation
  6. Hi everyone! Maybe someone on this site has some info or is in a similar situation. I've been trawling through sites all day trying to find relevant info to no avail. My OH has been lucky enough to find a sponsor quickly in Perth, on the 13th of July his application application to sponsor was sent in, two weeks later the Nomination was sent in and a week after that he was asked to send in all his documents for the finale stage ( 3rd of August). I know it hasn't been long since this happened but I am just wondering what the ACTUAL processing times for the 457 Visa are? I looked at the Oz goverment immigration site and it stated that the waiting time is 2 months after you have sent in all your personal documents, however I was also looking at posts online and there was posts saying they got their visa's within 5 days????!!! So basically is anyone in a similar situation that sent in their apps after the july 1st deadline that have heard anything positive back or maybe have got your visa's???? We haven't got a case worker or anything? (Our application is being prepared by my Husbands business not us) Thanks peeps *IMPATIENTISNOTTHEWORD :arghh:
  7. Hey, Just wondering if an Employer has to pay a fee to register their business for sponsoring people? I tried to find some info on imm gov Australia but its pretty confusing stuff. My Husband has a meeting with his potential sponsor (457 visa) at the end of this week so we want to have all the facts. Do they just pay the relative charges each time? Eg: Visa app:$350 Nomination charge:$80 Sponsorship charge:$405 Is there any extra charge for dependants included in the application? Thanks, Niamh

  9. Before your 1st WH Visa runs out , you have to apply for your second year visa. To get this you have to have worked in the same position for 3 months ... most people do farm work I think its looked on more favourably. After your second year WH Visa runs out you have to leave if you havent been sponsored and you cant return unless you have a job offer willing to sponsor you from oversea's or the like. Best bet is to go onto the Australian Immigration website and look through their skills shortage lists and other visa option criteria.
  10. Thank GOD!! I was hoping there would be some kind of loophole ... I'm quite a fan of loopholes ;D How long does it normally take to prepare the paperwork for this visa? And also the health certs I have a sinking feeling that could slow it down?? x
  11. dissapointing.... but thanks all the same x
  12. I did all the applicatons myself for Canadian sponsorship..... it was serious work to say the least!! But if you get an agent first of all make sure they are registered I know a few people who have been screwed over and also your still going to do most of the running around collecting certs etc for them so if you dont have much money I would do it yourself. My one weighed over a kilo when I sent it away and I swore I would never do it again.... I have a feeling Ill be eating my words! Best of luck xx
  13. I had seen that while doing research but someone told me there was two different ways to lodge it onshore and offshore. This is clearly just for the person being sponsored is it? Im clutching at straws here!! Any chance that if the app has been lodged we could possibly head over for a visit? Probably not if he's on the wh visa? Great news about the drink driving though... seemingly its a criminal offence in canada and america and they will NOT let you in , personally I think its a bit silly ... maybe if he was really over the limit but for 37mls a bit over the top
  14. Thanks very much, your a star. I have no idea how to do anything with these things !! And thanks for the crossed fingers ... I reckon I'll be needing them! x
  15. Hi everyone! Just going out on a limb here, in the hope that someone was or is in the same situation and knows a bit more about it! My Husband left for Australia on a W-H Visa and he now has got an employer that is willing to sponsor him (he's a chef). My question is if he lodges the application to be sponsored can our daughter and I go over before he does on a Holiday visa and be 'on shore' when he applies or do we have to wait in Ireland until everything is sorted? We only got married in January so as you can imagine this isn't how we would like to be spending our first year as a married couple. Also as for the actual sponsorship , my Husband was charged for drinking and driving 4 years ago. He was 37mls , the legal limit in Ireland is 35 but has not re-offended and was honest with them from the start. That is his only charge on his police cert and I have a clean one . Will this matter to the Ozzie Immigration people? I would really appreciate ANY help with this. The little one really misses her daddy so we want to get over there as quick as possible. Thanks . Niamh
