Have you got your state sponsor yet? As I am sure queensland don't sponsor general electricians its only railway electricians if I remember correctly. I had to apply for a 189 visa instead as I am an electrician now living in queensland.
  3. I'm north of Brisbane. I upload documents on the 22/10 and they say they were received on the 31/11.
  4. My medicals have cleared today so hopefully that's everything ready for CO. I'm also onshore are you?
  5. Hi, I applied on the 21st as well. Everything is uploaded and we are just waiting on medicals to clear which we had done a week ago today.
  6. Hi, Does anyone know of a company that is willing to sponsor a 457 visa in Queensland. I currently hold a Qld electrical mechanic license and i am living in Brisbane. Thanks
  7. Hi, I am an licensed electrical mechanic and im looking for a new company to take over my sponsorship. I have my white card, working at heights and QLD, Vic electrical license. I want to be working in either the commercial or industrial sectors but i would also consider domestic. I have 12 years experience and currently living in the northern suburbs of Brisbane. Please contact me if you might know anyone who is taking on. Thanks
  8. Hi, I am a licensed electrical mechanic in Queensland and i am looking for electrical work along with a company who will take over my 457 Visa. I mainly would like either commercial or industrial work however i am not ruling out domestic. I am clean and tidy and i always take pride in my work. 12 years experience. Currently living in the northern suburbs of Brisbane
  9. Can anyone help??? At the moment i am on a 457 visa and i have got a ARTC certificate and i am attending VIC Tafe to do my LEA course next week which in turn will give me my unrestricted licence in Vic. My question is, I now want to apply for a 190 visa which requires me to do a trade assessment with Vetassess which i think is crazy. I know the ARTC is not for migration proposes but i think an A grade licence should cover my skills as i am legally allowed to wire anything in Australia. Also do you think i could get TRA to assess me again but this time for migration purposes as it states in the guidelines that they can do this as. I need the 10 points for my trade to get me up to 65 points before i can apply my EOI
  10. That's great mate, but when did i mention anything about vetassess? I was talking about ARTC TRA. Completely different things and it doesn't matter if you have a nvq level 3 its if you actually did an apprenticeship. I didn't do a apprenticeship but i do have a nvq level 3. You need a certificate from a recognised apprenticeship such as jbl or even a tech college to say you carried out the full 4 years.
  11. Did you do a full recognised apprenticeship certificate? Not just c&g certificates. If not you will need 7 years employment as a electrician to pass TRA. I arrived in oz with 23 other electricians and only half of them past first time and everyone used the same agent, not to sure the agent was much cop tho.
  12. It does state in the guidelines if you have not completed a apprenticeship, you could supply 7 years work experience in your trade which i do have but some of it is self employed as a subby, and working for local builders and general public.
  13. Hi everyone, long time reader first time poster,i hope someone can help me as I am in a bad place. I received a job offer in sydney on a 457 visa a few months ago. My visa was granted and I went over to Oz in November to activate it and at the same time I applied for a artc certificate as a electrician. I used a agent that the company requested I use to help with my artc application. I came back to the uk to sort out my home and family and we booked flights to sydney next week, I have just received a letter telling me my artc was not granted as I need more evidence. The company are not willing to give me any work unless I pass this artc and there is a strong chance I might lose the job offer. We have sold our home, container is on its way and flights booked. I have a wife and child to take care of with low funds. Does anyone know of a quick way to get a electricians licence without artc or is it possible to get another sponsor without this. Thanks in advance.
  14. Help needed artc. Has anyone who as been granted the artc certificate used self employment towards the 7 years experience? I haven't completed an apprenticeship but I do have nvq3 and c&g level 3. I have worked as an electrician as an employee for 4 years and 3 years self employed. Do you think I will meet the guidelines? I have 3 years of accounts with 10 references so far from clients.
