  1. BIS is a totally amazing place.try going to their open day on 15th June
  2. We have lived in Bellbowrie for 6 months and LOVE it. Fab facilities, friendly and just quiet enough for us
  3. Freesia, much sense do you speak! Forums are great for info, meeting people and a sense of going through things together. I'm on several, and it's the same there too. If you put this many people in a room for hours on end, there would inevitably be some that didn't get along. We all know a forum isn't real life but sometimes I think people lose sight of that. You don't 'know' someone until you have spent q good amount of time with them...until then, I too think politeness and non judgement are key to a happy forum
  4. We too had an excellent experience there.
  5. Our fees were $425 on a part container (arrived Feb '13)
  6. I second the recommendation for Golden Arrow. They were superb, and looked after us all at a really stressful time.
  7. John Mason were excellent for us. No complaints whatsoever...Highly recommend
  8. For info we were told the feed Advantage in Eastern Creek. We now have our 2 on Coprice, working dog food, with occasional BARF raw mixed in. They are doing well, with no sloppy pick ups for us...
  9. Sorry...I can see the job detail now I've read your post properly! Any idea of the meterage involved?
  10. Did you find someone? My hubby is a master tiler. He mostly works in stone these days, but is having to drive up the coast to work in Noosa ATM & is away 5 days out of 7 Where are you based? We are SW. What kind of job is it? Megan
  11. Anyone on this thread interested in a group meet up? Maybe at Indro playground?
  12. Yep...it was a freight terminal for Qantas & others on Hibiscus St. Quite easy to find if you print a map off...right next to a rail track, and they have a 'safe' enclosure so you can meet & greet your pups before putting them in the car. We went straight to Kedron Brook Floodway for a leash free walk/paddle in the river before going home
  13. We collected our 2 border collie crosses from Qantas freight, Brisbane yesterday! They are totally fine. Very pleased to see us, just as they were, only hotter It's fab to have our whole family together again! We used Golden Arrow then Jetpets...both of whom were FAB. They had 4 visits/walks with Darlene the Dog Walker (PM me if you'd like her email/no) in the last 2 weeks of their stay in quarantine. I'd advise researching dog food now so you know where you're at when they arrive and are prepared for the cost: we're giving them Advantage, as that's what they had in Eastern Creek, combined with some RAW/BARF food..which you can buy frozen in portions at most pet shops & will hopefully be a bit cheaper. If you have time, try research & visit dog parks/beaches close to where you end up renting, it helps to know where you'll be walking them & you can meet some local dog owners... Lastly, buy tick collars so that you can go walking straight away & there is no chance of them being bitten by a paralysing tick, which are apparently quite evil... You'll be so busy for next few weeks..they'll be back with you before you know it Megsxxxxxx
  14. Ours were hoooge, and we couldn't get them home yesterday...donated them at the freight terminal as they said they have rescue people requesting them. Bet they get them quite regularly...8 Hibiscus Street, off Airport Drive.
  15. Morning! I wonder if anyone can tell me the quickest/easiest/most economical way of setting up a business for my husband's tiling/stone work? He works away 5 days/wk so I'm going to try & sort it myself in the next few days. We're starting to run low on $$ & need an ABN pronto, so he can invoice for the last month's work. Any pointers appreciated TIA Megsx
  16. Thanks both...will just suck it up I guess! They are released on a Saturday...will they charge a bunch extra for that as well? *sigh* That will take the running total for hounds to over £7k...jeez they better be pleased to see us! Only joshing...can't wait to see them...I'm so sick of picking DS's dinner up off the floor
  17. Hi folks! Our two hounds are in Eastern Creek quarantine until 8th Dec. I'm trying to arrange their onward shipping but have been quoted $600 upwards & we can't really afford this ATM *unsure* Obviously we want them here ASAP...would road transport be cheaper or maybe we should just go & pick them up?? Any advice appreciated... Megs
  18. We've just moved to Bellbowrie/Moggill from UK...I'm 39, Aussie hubby is 40, and our boy is 3...would love to meet up. Maybe we could even start a group for the Western suburbs if one doesn't already exist
  19. Thanks Srgs...I had a google & thought as much ;( Oh well...I think we'll still ship it, use it for this year/next (or until the sun fries it) then buy new when we can actually afford one...our 2 dogs have just cost us £7k *shudder* I would prolly struggle to sell it this time of year anyway...plus, I've already scrubbed the dang thing so it's coming with!! Shippers arrive tmrw...*runs off to finish a million small tasks*
  20. Thanks, hadn't thought of UV protection so will absolutely investigate! Good advice re the pegs as well. (Bins pegs) I had thought to write a label, but customs forms is of course the place to mention it, so thanks for that too! I'm prepared for them to open the boxes of outdoor stuff & have scrubbed & Jeyes-ed the lot, but TBH since scrubbing it the tent is so tightly stuffed in it's bag I'm hoping they'll take one look at it, think 'sod that' and move on to the stuff that I know IS spotless!
  21. Good to know others have had no real problems. It's a really good tent with mesh on all doors, windows & sleeping area, and it has a sewn in ground sheet to keep doggies in and creepy crawlies out *ohmy*...can anyone in Aus tell me how much I'd have to pay for an Outwell Montana 6??
  22. Is one of your children's parents an Aussie? We were advised to get citizenship for our boy as it works out cheaper once medicals etc are taken care of.
  23. We have a manhoosive and much loved tent which I spent most of today vacuuming & cleaning with Jeyes. Has anyone else shipped camping gear? The camping chairs, table, tent poles & pegs are spotless, and I'm pretty confident the tent is as clean as I could get it, the question is, is it clean enough? Also, even if it is up to Aqis standard, will we be hit with a big fee for them to inspect it? I'm sending wellies, dog leads etc & they are also now immaculate...will it help my cause that everything else is spanking, or will they still pull tent out and go over it with a fine tooth comb? Aargh this is such a minefield... Tomorrow I have to do the bikes (any advice here as well??) start cleaning hubby's tools, not to mention that I still haven't sold his van or my car and we leave on Sunday...How I wish DH was here to help *wail* I'm just thinking about seeing hubs for the 1st time in nearly 4 months, and the thought of us all sitting in the family hammock on the veranda in 9 days time is pulling me thru
  24. Just come back to this thread...2 weeks to go now for us! See you on the other side?
