  1. Hi, I have got a PR and have moved to Sydney on a permanent basis. My family will be joining me by August or so. We are a family of 4. 2 kids of 4.5 years and 3 years old. I know that as new migrants we are not allowed benefits for the first 2 years. But I know I had read somewhere that we might be eligible for some benefits for which we do not have to wait for 2 years. Can anyone of the senior members please help me with the information? Since I have 2 kids and my wife will not be working, what benefits can I get considering that I am the only earning member? Thanks. Cheers, jbb
  2. Wow Colin and Alison!!! Terrific news from your end....I am so glad that you have got a wonderful Xmas gift from DIAC.....I am sure your this year's Xmas celebrations will be remembered by you and your family for a very long time!!! Enjoy your holidays now!! Sit back....relax and enjoy these wonderful moments of success....Good luck with you and your family for a wonderful future in Oz!
  3. Thanks colin!! I am a relieved person today.....yeah team 33 was on a roll today....granted visas to 3 people...all of them had CO assigned on 25th Oct....I understand how feel Colin.....but cheer up.....I guess it is more of a formality in your case.....once your meds are cleared....I guess you will get your visa in 2-3 days max......have some more patience and hang in there....thanks for all the support and guidance you have provided to me and other members of this forum!! All the best with your application!!
  4. Thank you ozfever!! I think AK is cool....she did not bother me or my agent at all...she just sent email 3 times since the time she was allocated my case....one is the email she sent informing us that she is the CO processing my application....second....she replied back acknowledging that she had received the documents which she had requested to be resent via email.....third......she wrote to inform us that I have got the visa granted....:wink: I do not know if she did the job verification from all the applicants she handles....I feel the only reason she might have done verification is because I had claimed 8 yrs of exp which gave me 15 points for work exp....when I had done my skill evaluation from ACS,...that time I had not got my skills assessed from my current company since I had just joined and was just 2-3 months old only.....later at the time of visa application I was almost 1 year old in my current company....and therefore had to submit reference letter signed by my colleague...as I did not want to discuss about this with my HR...since I was barely one year old in the company.....so I feel they may have just verified to confirm if I actually am eligible for the extra 5 points which I had claimed in my application or not....also apart from that I was also awaiting PCC from another country where I had spent more than 12 months....I guess I might have got the visa much earlier say by Nov 20 or so but since I did not have the PCC in my hand....therefore it took a little bit longer....i submitted my PCC on 28th Nov and got the visa on 3rd Dec...nonetheless I am very happy that its over and now I have a PR . Good luck with your application.....
  5. Thanks Naseefoz! I have seen one of the forum members get a CO assigned and after 2 days the visa has been granted. So it is quite possible that your application might already have been allocated to a CO and he is already processing it. It is possible that the only communication you receive from the CO is that you have been granted the visa!!:wink: So do not get disheartened!!! Good luck with your application.....
  6. Thanks d4ddyc001 for all your support!! Yes I team 33 is on a roll today....I already read 3 people getting their grants today!! I hope and pray all our friends get their grants soon....
  7. Thank you finnijo!! Even I had not informed my HR about my visa application....they came to know about it when DIAC sent them the email.....my HR was pissed off hearing about this....but as you can see that they did not give any false information and validated the email which DIAC had sent them. Good luck with your application!
  8. Thank you newwave!! Yes DIAC had emailed my current company the documents I had sent them to validate. I had also received call from the Australian Embassy from New Delhi and was asked employee code....date of joining, last date...designation from my previous company as well as current company. I do not know if they did any verification from my previous company or not though..... My CO was AK from team 33. All the best with your application!!
  9. Thank you Plutology!! Yeah those were tough days for me....but am glad that everything is now behind me....I want to enjoy this moment!!! I am sure you will also get your grant also in the next few weeks. Thank you delta, annetev, ztij2003.....yes its a great feeling......I will also celebrate this with my family!!!! Thanks to all the forum members who were there to guide and support....I wish all of you who are still waiting to hang in there....I am sure you will get your visas!!! Cheers, jbb

  12. wowwww that is awesome news ztj2003...... actually i am not able to believe it that you got the visa in just 2 days of being assigned a CO......did the CO even inform you that she is now processing your case? Or the only communication she sent you was the visa grant letter. BTW, my CO is also AK, so I just hope she is kind enough on me too and showers her blessings

  22. AnnetteV, Wowowwww....many congratulations....I guess you have made the day for all of us...I was dying to hear some good news from people around here...since it seemed like ages since I heard someone here say that they got a visa grant email.....I am sure you would be on cloud 9......enjoy the moments....and good luck for your bright future in Oz.....can you please share your timelines?
  23. that's the email address of team 33 brisbane.gsm.team33@immi.gov.au which I had got when my CO emailed us.
  24. N7kkp, But this is typical behavior which I have seen from our peer colleagues and managers....the common thought is what is there for me? Very rarely managers and HR tend to think from the individual's point of view and try to facilitate things for the benefit for the employee especially when they have got a hint that this person is not going to stay with them. I do not think Indian companies are considerate enough and think from the employees point of view even after the employee has been loyal to them and worked with full dedication. I wish all managers were like you N7kkp who are humane and understand their employees aspirations!! I just hope someone amongst us shares some good news soon this week!!
  25. Guys, Has anyone received any call from Australian Embassy/High Commission to verify the details? I am from India and I received a call from Australian embassy today (from Delhi) confirming all the details I had submitted to them....like my DOB, my employee id etc...when did I join my current company...designation....when did i join and leave my previous company....designation etc..... This is kind of news to me that they are verifying from the company as well as from the applicant as to what information has been supplied to them in the application....He also asked me what documents I had submitted for my current and past employment. I told him that for my current employment I told I have provided Statutory Declaration.....signed by my colleague....he said that is not considered valid as such.....he said as a personal suggestion it is always good to have a letter from your HR....I said I have not informed my HR that I have applied for a visa application and explained that they do not provide details about the job responsibilities in the letter that HR provides.....and for skills assessment it is very important to have the job responsibilities and roles to be described...the embassy guy.....agreed to that.,....and said yes they are kind of hesitant to issue letters with those details......but he said its always good to keep the HR informed that you have applied for a visa and if they could issue a letter.....but he said it is only a suggestion from his end....I said I did provide a letter from my previous company since I had already left them....and even then my previous company did not give the letter easily,....they issued me the letter only after 2-3 months....but he said that Australian Embassy can do verification where-ever they feel appropriate or if they feel s required....I said I am aware about that and told them that the Australian High Commission has already emailed my current company last week requesting for verifying my employment. He said that if you have provided valid information then I do not have to worry....I said that I have provided only the correct information and I have absolutely no worries in their verifying whatever they want to......From the entire conversation I got to understand is that they just want to confirm if the documentation provided is authentic or not because he said that they have had many applications received in the past where the documents submitted were fake and therefore they do verification....I said I understand that and I am fine with that....he thanked me for my co-operation and he ended the call. So this is for all my friends out there who are still awaiting their visa grants....of the latest update....as far as my application goes..... Cheers, jbb
