[h=1]Self-employment and Australian visas[/h]Being self-employed can be an option for Australian skilled visas.
Instead of showing employment references, you should then be able to show:
evidence of payment such as client invoices and receipts, tax returns and accountant statements, accounting books
references from clients that span the time that you are claiming for
if you have other evidence such as contracts, business cards etc.
The work still needs to be for the time that the skills assessing authority requests. For example with VETASSESS, they may request at least 40 hours per fortnight (per two weeks) for at least 12 months in the 5 years before applying.
Other authorities have different work experience requirements so you should check with each of them.
Being self-employed on a subclass 489 visa – in Australia – can also be fine, as long as it is also full time – 35 hours a week plus – and meets any other necessary requirements.

What are the main requirements for this route? Has anyone successfully gone through this path?
It would be great to hear your experiences like your backgrounds, business, application process and such (of course in the general level). :realmad:
