Took a friend nearly 3 weeks to get a test and ceremony was a couple of months after approval

That actually depresses me to be honest. I'm in Melbourne too (Monash) Here's my timeline and I still have no date even though the council has finally updated their website and have a ceremony listed for March 6th now. Applied 17th October 2014 Interview 20th November Approval 19th December And when I called on Friday I still don't have a ceremony booked. Congratulations to you guys though, nearly there! Thanks for the suggestion shaunfreo I will try doing that.

Thanks for the suggestion. The department themselves weren't helpful when I asked them. They said do the ceremony when you come back but given the circumstances I can't predict that. I'll try the council but don't think they'll do much as well because when I asked them when the next ceremony is, they said to just call immigration as they're not authorised to give that information.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with getting an urgent citizenship ceremony. I am interested in applying for one but not sure if I have sufficient grounds for it. My father passed away late last year and my mother is on her own now. She's struggling on her own with such a big change obviously and I want to go to help her out for a few months. My citizenship application was approved just before Christmas and I don't have a date for a ceremony yet. Anyone who's familiar with urgent ceremony know if this will be a valid reason for them to expedite the process?

So almost 5 years later...finally got my PR!

Yes, had to try several times to get in touch with the case officer and the IT support, turns out it was an issue with my HAP ID and they had to issue me a new one!

Have booked an appointment and trying to log on to emedical to fill my medical history. However, for the last few days I keep on getting the message, the service is currently unavailable. Is anyone else having that issue? Or know what's the alternative? Thanks!

This really worries me. Been almost 2 months since I submitted every document they asked for but haven't heard anything about when my application would be approved by.

In the same boat as you. Applied 15 January 2009. Got a case officer on 13th March 2012. Overseas Police clearance submitted 15th March 2012. Medicals were finalised on 27th March 2012 and AFP Certificate submitted on 2nd April 2012. Still waiting for an answer!

My case officer is from Team 33 and I submitted all my documents more than 6 weeks ago but I'm still waiting for an answer too!

That's what I'd think so too but he keeps on asking me more and more information about it which isn't in the form so I wonder what he's thinking. He's now asked me to don't email until he wants more information. I'm just worried what the hold up is

I understand what you mean. I had submitted everything but my AFP Police Check by 20th of March and the police clearance on 2nd of April but I still haven't heard anything. Whenever I have asked for an update my case officer has asked me for more information about the unemployment period I have listed on form 80 (from 2010). It seems like everything else is in order so I don't know what he's trying to find out especially since I DO have a job at the moment.

I got a case officer nearly 2 months ago but he's just dragging his feet. I had provided everything to him within a week of allocation and my last document was submitted exactly a month ago. My case officer keeps on asking me to submit the employment history section from form 80 and no matter how many times I do what he asks, he asks me to do the same thing again. Don't know what exactly is he expecting to come out of it!!

My case officer told me to keep the envelope with me but he's already confirmed the results online.
