no i believe and have read some where its only british citizens that move to any country thats in the EU your not entitled to claim british benefits if you live in oz.

can anybody help me, we came over to oz last year on a 457, a job offered to my husband, but we have just not settled in and are wanting to return home to the uk to our son and family, my husbands work colleagues have informed him that his company are obligated to pay for are return/relocation under the visa agreements does anybody no if this is true any help or advice would be much appreciated.

like blossom, and i have become more stressed used to be chilled in the uk but very nervous over here as the place is so vast and we dont no anyone i have become quite low in mood dont want to go out only to work and back quite sad really.

personally i dont think its too bad cost wise if you do look on gumtree or ebay, also people on here are going home and selling there belongings off, you can pick up some great bargins there are quite a few furniture stores in dandonong that are quite reasonably priced kmart is great ( cheap) for your house ware ie- kitchen laundry bedding, i hear there is a furniture company super a mart i think its called is good for your bulk items and some places give you discount when you buy in bulk, we brought our furniture with us last september were going home at the end of the year so have to ship it back again its very costly, best to research furniture stores and gumtree aus and way up your storage and shipping costs.

I'd say the nearest place is ryll or blackpool m8 :biggrin:

surely you must have enough cash for a one way flight back stop doing this to yourself go home and be happy you WILL get over it your mental health is more important to you and you are not the first or will be the last to probably leave a debt please please go home.

sorry to say bassboy but he is right we are in melbourne but went to perth to stay with family over xmas new year and found it very expensive, i no it was the xmas period but we didnt go mad out every night or splashing out on things we didnt need but we still got through $3,000 in 14 days, i find austarlia expensive compared to the uk but perth more so, also been to nsw.

Iam so jealous to here your home and have landed in manchester my home town,, we are hoping to be back there in october this year as i feel exactly the same as you did been here 7 months now and i think i new after the first that i had made a big mistake but glad it because i would have been one of those always telling myself what if,, if we didnt, so pleased for you .

your no claims from the uk dosent matter here like bamboozled said they dont ask for proof of it, when i got a car they just asked if i had any accidents in the last so many years told them no as ive not and they take as truth and quote what you, no problems.

you can read all the threads you like but i really dont think i will make any difference to you,, no body actually now's what it is going to be like for there family as were all different and want different things out of it, just like the rest of us you will have to make the move and find out for yourself if its the life you want for you and your family, you just wont no till you've tried it good luck
