We got he extra baggage through anz and emirates but had to phone and sent them email before they gave it. They were really good when we phoned. Think they woman was actually chatting up hubby. Although did feel we had too many bags when we arrived and packed a load of winter stuff. Wooly hats Not really needed in Queensland. I would phone again. Worth a try.

If it makes you feel any better, we leave on the first march and don't finish work until the 22nd. House to be packed up and three kids under the age of four to sort out. Don't feel too stressed but think I am maybe in a bit of denial!

We are off to bundy in march next year and just wondering if there are any areas that aren't great to live in. We have three kids under four so family orientated areas best. Just wondered if there are any areas that should definitely be avoided. Both drive and I am working at the friendly so travel not an issue. Any help would be appreciated

No advice but moving there in march to work at same hospital and interesested in nurseries too. Hope your journey goes well and you aren't too stressed. Sure I will bump into you when we get there

Hi i had an interview this week on Skype and they didn't ask much just why you wanted to move. A few questions about surgical nurses and your experience. Was over quite quick. Wouldn't worry too much. Good luck

Think it will de down to the job. Not keen on big cities either so that might influence us. Might you have a few glasses of wine then stick a pin in the map. So much to consider. Thanks for your help

Hi i just wondered how people decided where to move to in oz. Every day me and my husband change our mind and can't settled on one place. Is it better to go where you have friends for some support or go it alone. We have friends in Melbourne and Canberra which would help but really want to be some where warm all the time. Had settled on Townsville or around there but someone said it wasn't that great. Is it a case of just putting a pin in the map and going from there?

Me and hubbie did the same trip in 2004 but ended up in Sydney. Really enjoyed it but got home sick in Sydney. You will have a great time. We made the mistake of not having much money left when we got to oz and this didn't help. I found the nursing agencies were could and helped us loads. We are now in the process of coming back. Good luck and enjoy yourself. Watch out for the ladyboys though, my hubby seemed to attract them!

Don't have a job yet as unable to come until next year. Just wondered how easy it was to get work. I worked in Sydney and they did a few different things but much the same. Found that they speak to patients differently and don't put up with as much crap as we do here. We are still in early stages but just like the look of townsville

Thanks tandcmum. Noticed you are coming from Perth. I am in Angus so sure you will be used to a similar kind of nursing to me. Would be great to here how you find it compared to Scotland and how you all cope with the heat. Bet you won't miss Scotland's weather
