  1. If you could that'd be fab thank you! Any help is massvely appreciated! I have sent my cv to a woman called Karen Prosser. You can contact her on 020 7395 0575. Shes based in london and helps people going on 457's to get jobs. not heard back from her yet but i hope she helps!
  2. Thank you all for your help!! I spoke to someone from HealthCare Australia who advised me to go on a working holiday visa, work with them and find a job/sponsor once ive got myself acquainted with some of the hospitals and wards. Obviously he would say that as hed want me to sign up with his company. Is there jobs and people offering sponsors in WA. I just dont want to go out (on a working hol visa) and not get a job and out run my visa! Ive sent my cv to a woman who helps find jobs for people going out on 457's so im going to stick with that for the time being. Ive applied at some private hospitals but no luck there. Ill keep trying though. And ill check out silver chain. I just want a job so i can stop stressing and start getting excited about moving to Oz!! Thank you all again
  3. Wandering if anyone can help. I am a registered nurse with 3 1/2 years experience. Im wanting to go out to Perth on a 457 in November. Ive got my AHPRA approval so just at the job applying stage.....only problem is, im getting no where! Ive had a few responses where they are impressed with my resume (ive got acute surgical and medical experience) but theyve put me 'on file'. I had one response who said they'd have a look at sponsorship but ive not heard back since. Im very thorough with my covering letters and ive had my CV checked over by lots of people so its not as though im not putting the effort into my applications. Has anyone else had this sort of experience and does anyone have any tips/advice or know of any hospitals/clinics/areas that are more keen on offering sponsorships? I dont fancy going out on a working holiday visa unless i really have to as i want some security out there. I also need to be out by the end of November as my AHPRA will expire at the end unless ive presented myself at the office by them. Got a few months to get sorted but im getting a bit stressed and would like abit of luck with job hunting so any help welcome!!
  4. Thank you for the help think ill do as you say and clearly put when ill be out on my cv. Yeah ive got my AHPRA approval, took me four months so i was probably one of the lucky ones!
  5. Sorry to gatecrash on the thread! Ali, you seem to know about interviewing for nursing posts. Im hoping to move to Perth in november. Have you got an idea of the best time to start applying for jobs? Im going on a 457. Getting married in October in England so i couldnt get to Oz any earlier than early november. I presumed end of may is the best time to apply but would they hold a job that long for me/what length of time am i looking from applying for a job to the postion being ready for me? Again, ive only ever had one job so im abit clueless on interviewing! THanks for any help x
  6. Hi KathleenandCraig My statement of service was exactly the same as yours and was accepted by APHRA so should be fine. I dont even think my manager signed it. I sent my original job secription too just in case. Just get EVERYTHING notarised!
  7. Hi, ive got my APHRA approval letter through and ive got a deadline of November 30th to present myself to Brisbane Office. Im getting married October 20th in England so were planning on getting there mid november (and basing ourselves in Perth). Were going on a 457 visa. Ive got two questions 1. When is the best time to strart applying for jobs? I figured end of may time but do you think that it too early/would they hold a job that long for me? 2. Also as i will be getting married just before i go out, ill have to change my maritial status and circumstances on my APHRA and probably my visa. Does anyone have any experience of doing this? Is it a massive b***ache or is it quite simple. Ive emailed the woman who dealt with me at APHRA but shes curently on holiday. ANY help and advice will be greatly appreciated! THanks in advance Polly x
  8. Hey, im looking at going out on a 457 visa in november. Do you know how long they usually take? Ive got a deadline of nov 30th to get there (as im going as a nurse and my APHRA reg is terminated if i dont attend by then). Just wandering when abouts would be the best time to lodge it. Thanks in advance
  9. Hi, im here to ask for any advice/personal opinionsof anyone! Me and my fiance have been planning to move to oz for years. I am a nurse and received my nursing registration last november - meaning we have til november to move out there! We had always planned to move to Brisbane with Perth being our second choice. However.....my friend who is also a nurse moved to Gold Coast with her husband and 2 children and for financial reasons had to return a few weeks later. She has told me Brisbane is more expensive than i had thought (obviously i knew it would be more expensive than what iam used to now)....she also said although Perth is lovely, its quite local vs english??! The distance it is from everywhere else puts a bit of a negative on it for me but my finace has had family there so he is quite keen for it Before we make any big decisions and start looking for jobs and appying for visas, could anyone ad everyone give me there opinions on these two cities and also any others that you would recommend for us (melbournes one i am insterested in). We must sound incredibly naive to be asking advice so soon to such a big move but we are quite focussed and just want other opinions. Ill be working as a nurse and my financee/then husband will be working in either the sport industry, bar work or general labour. I think were gonna go with the 457 visa. Please get bck with any opinions and advice, both negative and positive Thanks in advance! Polly
