  1. I just did the same thing. Your visa will be granted when you are not in the country. You have to send your CO your travel itinerary so this can happen. You should leave 8 days outside Aus for this. Once you receive grant notification all you should have to do is go back into aus and you will then be a permanent resident. COngratulations
  2. i emailed my CO str8 after i uploaded documents and they got back to me str8 away. ALso emailed them just before i was leaving Aus and they granted the visa an hour later so i would reccomend it
  3. so i left Australia at 2 25pm on Wednesday and my 176 got granted at 4pm. Was pretty shocked when i got the email when i got back to the UK but well chuffed

    Aiden

Welcome from one Aidan to another
  5. good luck to everyone this week. i leave Aus for the UK tomorrow therefore will hopefully be granted as soon as I leave.
  6. When you get granted state sponsorship, you need to send a form back to them with your DIAC reference number (when you have lodged your visa application) within 90 days otherwise your state sponsorship will lapse and you will have to apply again. Not sure on the crossover. will have to look in to it and get back to you.
  7. Hi From my experience 1) You can apply for the SS and choose not to use it so is not compulsory to follow thru with 176 2) I believe it is valid for 90 days 3) Application fee varies depending on state i think. mine for NSW was $330 Not sure on 4 but once the 176 visa is srill about it should be fine once used within the 90 days
  8. sure, i am actually going back to the UK for 6 weeks. Does all the items on your DIAC online checklist say met???? If so they should have done the pre grant by now. If you email a travel itinery it prob would speed things up and they will note to grant while you are away. Perhaps just email your CO and tell them you are looking to go away with expected dates and ask whether the visa will be finalised while away
  9. yep i sent it when i confirmed my police check had been uploaded. She also sent me an email yesterday saying 'The pre-grant letter is used to advice clients that their case is nearing finalisation, request that clients depart Australia for the purposes of visa grant and advice clients of their initial entry date. As you have already advised the department that you are departing Australia, and I can see that you will be returning before your initial entry date (14/05/13) there is no need to issue you a pre-grant letter. So fingers crossed i will be a permanet visa holder when i arrive back in Aus
  10. Been out here since January so not that long. Is pretty cold at the moment so coming back at the right time. Only home for a month though. Hopefully you ll get one soon. Its supposed to be a few weeks so fingers crossed.
  11. Cheers Guys.... i am actually heading back to the UK next week anyways so seems to have worked out perfectly. Any newsyet Jars. Surely this week?
  12. My Co said this 'Thank you for providing the requested information and your travel itinerary. Your departure details have been noted for prompt finalisation of your visa application after your departure ' Does this basically mean i have been pre granted?????
  13. Just had an email from my CO saying 'Thank you for providing the requested information and your travel itinerary. Your departure details have been noted for prompt finalisation of your visa application after your departure ' What does this mean... I hope this means i will be granted jus after i leave. Dont think i ll get a pre grant letter?????
  14. I think i m starting to go a bit stir crazy. Uploaded the last document on Thursday night and emailed CO to tell her that. This morning I have been checking the DIAC portal and emails every approximately 3 and a half minutes. Oh dear.... very frustrating yet exciting every time you get an email to see its just a deal for a hoover
