  1. Pretty much, I wouldnt worry to much about which profession you are part of as Im ACCA and when I applied for jobs they never asked, all long as you can show them your memebership details your fine. Its only when you want to apply for a skilled visa that they ask for your profession to be recognised by CPA. If you go on a 457 you dont need a skills assessment
  2. Hi, I ignored the comment and decided to take the risk and move to Sydney. I,ve been here since Nov and was only out of work for one month. I've now managed to secure a perm role with sponsorship so happy days.
  3. Hi All, I am a qualified ACCA accountant with 8 years experience in manufacturing industry. I am 26 years old and am thinking of immigrating to Oz this year. My plan is to go out on a working holiday visa and try find a employer willing to sponsor me. I have read a few posts were people have said oh its so hard to find a suitable role as an accountant in Oz that pays good money and they prefer Australian qualifications rather than ACCA. Can anyone shed some light on this for me as I dont want to leave a full time job and discover then that I cant find employment over there. The reason I want to move is to make a better life for myself and my partner and im getting a little scared reading all these quotes.
  4. Hi Irramal, I just read your quote and was shocked to hear that a person with your level of experience was finding it so difficult to find a suitable employer. I am thinking of travelling to Oz this year with my partner. I am a fully qualified ACCA accountant living in Ireland and am still in full time employment my biggest fear is walking away from my employer and after reading your quote I am even more shocked to find how hard it is to find a job. I dont even have my visa yet and I was going to head out on a working holiday visa and hope to find a suitable employer that route. I am interested to hear how you are getting on now seen as this post was lodged quiet some time ago.
  5. Hi there, i've started looking into visa's etc and am a fully qualified ACCA accountant. You will need to have your skills assessment done and in order to qualify you will have to be a member of a professional body

    a special case!!

Hey Guys, I know I really need to get the ball rolling, I have been inquiring into different visa options with agencies and they all seem to charge an arm and a leg its ridiclous the fees they are looking for. I was nearly going to just apply for the working holiday visa, apply for a job when I get out there and hopefully find a sponsor that route with wouldnt cost a quarter of what these agency crowds are looking for. Have you both applied for your visa's?

Hi Nishi I just seen your quoate about accountants being flagged to be removed from the SQL list. Where did you read this, I am a qualified accountant and have not yet applied for my visa Kind Regards Jamie
  8. Does anyone know if accountants are being removed from the skilled occupation list? I have enquired with a visa agency over the phone and they confirmed I get 85 points but I havent lodged an application yet as the costs are huge, they want like 3000 euro for me and my partner. Alot of people have been telling me to save our money and go on a working holiday visa and find a sponsor that route it works out alot cheaper.
  9. Guys can I just ask you all, i am thinking of heading to Oz with my partner and have been onto a visa agency and they confirmed I pass the skilled points test. I am a fully qualified acca accountant with 8 years experience. alot of people have been telling me to ignore this route and come out on a working holiday visa and find a sponsor because the visa agency is looking for almost 3000 euro and the working holiday visa cost like 300 euro. Any tips or advice
  10. Hi Aussie4ever & Nishi, I know I kind of guessed it that they were trying to make money and tell me everything I wanted to hear. I was speaking to an accountant who moved to Oz on a working hol visa and she found a employer to sponsor her and she said there are 4 other Irish girls in her office that came out on a working holiday visa. So im thinking maybe its worth the risk to go out on a working holiday visa and hopefully find a sponsor rather than paying 3k to the agency, its alot of money to pay out. Its very true, too the australian's we are foreigners but hey I hear they love the Irish ha ha just joking. Oh wouldnt you just wish the process was so simply and straight forward. I was searching on seek.com.au for accountants in sydney and it was showing up like 2000 available job's thats alot so I expect with that many open positions you shouldnt find it hard to find a job maybe im wrong.
  11. Hi Nishi, Thanks for your input, are you currently living in Oz? Its such a big decision to make and its so hard to decide. I have been onto a visa agency and they said I would be making anything from 100k to 150 but they could be just telling me that so that they can make their sales/comission. The main reason I have been thinking about it is because my partner is out of work and he has no trade so I would have to apply and he could come as my defacto. People say you can make lots of money out there and save but im not sure if its possible as I hear the cost of living is so expensive
  12. Hi Teewhy, what is the 175 visa about? I have applied to global visa's and im going for the 457 visa which is the 4 year permanent working visa but its working out to be alot of money. Its such a difficult decision to make, my partner is out of work and Im still in full time employment so im getting it hard to decide is it worth walking away from a job when the country is in recession. I am a fully qualified ACCA accountant with 8 years experience in Industry. Its such a big move to make and im terrified. Are you working at the min. Everyone says you can make money over in Australia but is it really just hear say because the cost of living is so expensive. My only reason for going would be to save money and try and come home and buy a house am I mad?? ha
  13. Cheers, Gilraen. I will def attend this event
