  1. I understand this is a thread for EOI predictions but wasnt sure how else to contact you Captain C! Just wanted to say a huge thank you for all of your help on this forum, and others members too! The amount of information and help I have received by reading through this forum has been fantastic. I lodged my 189 visa application for me and OH on 28/01/2016 and we both received direct grants this morning when we woke! Its been the most incredible day. Just wanted to share my gratitude for your knowledge and for helping us get to where we are! The process has been so quick! Over the moon (and so tired, all of the excitement has worn me out im ready for bed he he he) Godbless and good luck to all fellow applicants xxxxxx
  2. Hey all, Not sure if this is the correct thread but will give it a go.... Currently scanning all of my documents for 189 visa. I am aware colored copies do not need to be certified but I have a question regarding a couple of other documents... Lease agreements (Defacto evidence) both of our leases are in black and white .... My partners birth certificate was sent from the service provided by Direct Gov (he lost his original) and this is a "Certified copy of an entry" which is also black and white... Do I need to get these documents certified as they are not coloured? No problem if so, my friend is able to do it! Just thought I would double check Thanks in advance!!!
  3. Hey Captain C, Sorry for the delayed reply! Just wanted to say we got our invite in the first round of January!! Thanks so much for your help!! Police checks arrived today and we had our medicals on saturday, so lodging the visa tomorrow and front loading all docs! Thanks again!!!
  4. Thanks Captain C, we will wait and see, how exciting! No rush for us at the moment Just hoping we haven't under calculated the points on my partners employment, I keep going over the EOI in my head. Think its right but just worrier!!! Thanks again!
  5. Hi Captain C Wondered whether you would be able to estimate for us how long we will be looking to wait for an invite 322313 - first class welder 60 points EOI: 4/12/2015 (today) Thanks in advance :-)
  6. Brilliant, thanks ever so much for clearing that up! We understand about a defacto relationship, I will be included as this on the application. We have been together for almost 6 years and living together for almost 4, so we have our evidence to prove this, lease agreements, joint bank account and bills together etc. It was just the points for skilled employment we were unsure of! Thanks again! :-)
  7. Hello to all, I am not too sure how this site really works with regards to making new posts, so if this thread is anywhere else or needs moving I do apologise!! Myself and boyfriend are hoping to apply for 189 visa. He's a first class welder (received positive skill assessment from Victoria University yesterday, yay) We currently have 50 points and he's booked onto ilets a week today. My question is with regards to how many points he can claim for Skilled employment. He started an apprenticeship in his trade in March 2004, he receieved his foundation modern apprenticeship certificate in January 2008 however his last certificate was issued in December 2008 for his Modern Apprenticeship. I'm just wondering whether we can claim the time spent in his apprenticeship as skilled employment or whether its only post qualification?? I've read the information on the immi website which says the relevant assessing body provides an opinion on a date which you should use, but ours has no mention of a date on the outcome letter? So confused, any advice would be massively appreciated as we don't want to under/over calculate our points when submitting an EOI. Thank you x
  8. Hi Jamie, Just wanted to let you know that my boyfriend has just completed a technical interview with Victoria University on Monday just passed in London via Skype. He too has the same City and Quilds Level 3 and did a Modern Apprenticeship. He went for First Class welder after a bit of a debate as he felt he was more suited to that! I'm not sure what you'll be asked with regards to questions but he just told me to let you know that if its your trade, you'll fly through it! The accessor was great, it was more of an informal chat and it was just to ensure he was in fact what he claimed to be. He asked a question regarding something my partner didn't have a lot of practice in and when he explained the accessor moved onto another area. Just try to be yourself and be honest and you'll be fine. We received confirmation of a positive skill assessment from Victoria University yesterday morning Also, its questions based around what you have selected to have experience in on your Trade set.. Good luck!
  9. Hi all, Im new to the forum and came across this thread! Wondered if anyone could help me and my partner! We are hoping to apply for the 190 visa through his skills. hes a welder/fabricator at home here in UK, hes completed Trade Set and going for Metal fabricator for skills assessment. Just wondered whether anyone had any preference on which RTO to use.. VU or Vetasess and any particular reason why? Ive read a few times that Vetasess has quite a long processing time? Hes got all welding/fabrication certs through City and Guilds, Modern Apprenticeship and Level 3. Hes been working in the trade for 11 years in total (inc apprenticeship) Just wondered if anyone could shine any light on the evidence that needs to be presented whilst applying for skill assessment, seen on the websites for both RTO's to include payslips, tax certs etc? How many of these must be provided? Also, employer statements.. he's recently started a new job a few weeks back so slightly reluctant to ask his new boss for one incase he gives him the boot whilst hes still on probabtion would this be a problem? And lastly, certified copies in the UK... who can we get to do this? I know in Oz its Justice of the peace etc, would it be similar at home here in the UK? Just take them up to the court and get some jolly ol chap to sign them? Any help would be gratefully appreciated, hoping to get the Skill Assessment sent off next week so that we can apply for visa asap. Only recently returned from Oz a few months back (temp visas) and missing the sunshine and laid back life ... Thanks in advance if anyone gets time to reply! xxx
