  1. Regarding the shipping of the container - what address needs to be given to the shipping company if you still do not have an address to send to? How is the quotation made without this important information? We have requested a quote for the door to door service and they require an address in Adelaide, but since we didn't actually move yet, we still don't have one to give. How do the shipping companies usually solve this problem? Thanks. Geoff
  2. Well, in february I'll have 8 years experience instead of 5 years which would give 5 more points - but the point is that the rules change in July. At the moment if I have the points I can apply. After July, having the points is not going to be enough - after July, enough points gives the option to make an expression of interest -and then to wait to be invited by the system to make an application for the visa. So to make the application for the provisional visa before, or to wait and fill in an expression of interest, and get, or not get, invited to apply, according to the system settings.
  3. Good morning (or afternoon, or evening) all, I wanted to get a general view of people on a choice I may have in June. What would you do? Take the option of a Regional State Sponsorship (475) - lets say in South Australia - or wait in order to obtain more points and apply, or rather, fill an EOI after July 1 2012? Geoff
  4. Hello everybody, I received a confirmation today in the post from TRA for my application for trade recognition and filled out the SA electronic application form (for 475 visa). Waiting now for the successful result so that I may send it along with all the other documents for the application to SA.
  5. I have kind of decided to go for the TRA trade recognition and go for Electronic Instrument Trade (special class), but have hit a problem. They the TRA ask for an academic transcript of the apprenticeship which I do not have. I have the certificate of completion which states that I have passed the trade test and I also have the apprentice agreement signed off on completion. Does anyone have any experience with this and do I have another option?
  6. I am going for a general skilled visa or possibly state sponsored and have a question regarding which skills assessment and therefore which job to get assessed for. I have the options of getting my trade recognised (I am a time served process control technician), which would give me the option of applying as an Electronic Instrument trade worker - Special Class (Industrial Measurement and Control Technician) (TRA assessment) or using my college qalifications to get Ieng or EngTech and going for recognition as an Engineering Technologist through the Sydney Accord (Engineers Australia). What would be my best option, considering costs of applying and for chances of getting sponsorship and/or employment? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
