  1. Opportunity to take over the balance of a 12 month lease (6 months remaining), with MICM property leasing. Property is a one bed apartment in the Willsmere Estate in Kew, 6k's from Melbourne CBD with excellent public transport links. We have the chance to move to a larger unit, and would be keen to find tenants to allow us to break this lease. This is being done with the full knowledge of the managing agents. Cost is 370 p.w.. We were lucky enough to secure this place from the UK prior to our move in January, through a property lawyer friend, and are aware that securing somewhere to stay , sight unseen can be tricky and worrisome. The details of the estate, which is beautiful- is below - feel free to PM me for any more details. In one of Melbourne's most picturesque locations, set on high ground above the Yarra River with breathtaking views of the Melbourne cityscape, Willsmere is one of Melbourne's most visual urban landmarks. This charming estate features a library and reading room. Adjacent to the library is an area originally referred to as the Gallery', which is now called the archive centre. The archive centre is preserved mostly in its original form as it was built in 1872. The archive centre is periodically open for residents. The original lawn bowling green is well maintained and is now regularly used by Willsmere residents. New features have been added to the property including two tennis courts, three BBQ facilities, a 25 meter solar heated swimming pool, a toddler's pool, a half-basketball court, a function room, security entry and undercover car spaces, as well as a courtesy bus leaving the Willsmere car park to Kew Junction three times a day. In addition to these amenities, the property features a gorgeous 25 acres of botanical gardens surrounding the BBQ areas. The front office run by MICM also manages and oversees the replacement of keys and remotes, maintenance issues, function room bookings, ladder hire, bike shed keys and post collection and distribution.
  2. Morning all, Nice email from my CO (AB) yesterday afternoon, advising I've been granted my visa! Its the 100 too! Application Lodgement Date 25 June 2012 , Decision Date 27 November 2012. He was obviously underpromising last week when I gave him a nudge and he said nearer the 6 month mark at which time he would be on holiday! Good luck to everyone else! And a huge thankyou to everyone on the forum that have shared their experiences and knowledge with me, mostly without knowing it, as I have lurked for info on a daily basis.
  3. Approaching 5 months since application date (26/06), and CO (AB) had advised 5-6 months wait at the time and during one subsequent contact. Thought I would give him a nudge today. He has responded today saying that June apps are now more likely to be nearer 6 months, and that he will be on holiday at that point and one of his colleagues 'should' be able to help. Was kinda hoping for a 5 month turnaround, but hopefully on track for 6. Wondering if its worth pestering thru December, and hoping it's on a pre Xmas to do list for someone.
  4. Quick question for the PIO hivemind - I'm due to arrive in Melbourne Feb/March 2013. What would the sensible route be for Medical Insurance between arrival and getting a job. Obviously aware that I would be able to registed for Medicare on arrival, but its bridging the gap for costs between then and getting the income to pay for decent insurance plan, or getting something through employment. Would an emigration travel insurance policy be the best bit for the bridging between arrival and job? Any help appreciated
  5. Hi all, I've not contributed before, but have gleaned so much valuable information from everyone on here, it seems churlish not to. Applied for a Partner Offshore on 21/06/12, CO assigned 26/06/12 (AB), just completed medical and everything is crossed. My wife's australian, and we're moving to melbourne between January-March next year. Thanks all on the forum for your help
