Hi Craig I am confused! If we bring cars over cause they are worthmore in most cases to Aus, why get them valued in Aus. Surely with the shippingand so forth deduction on high end cars will not make them cheaper then the UK value. Nextyear I want to bring 2 Porsche 911s a 2006 Carrera convertible UK value £30,000Aus value $95,000 and 2007 Carrera4S convertible UK value £40,000 Aus value$145,000 are they the 10% where Aus value is not recommended? I will have ownedone for a year and half and the other for a year when I leave the UK and do havethe purchase invoice. As an example £30,000 X 1.5 $ rate= $45,000 10% Duty on Aus value $95,000 10% Duty on. Clearly much more. Is it not possible to bring an Autotrader Magazine when Ileave to show customs the UKvalve?

Hi Iron Chef I am unclear about taking a small 110cc quad bike and an adult water jet ski with trailer (not sure of engine size) with me. I dont have any paperwork for them as it was given to me secondhand. Do I need to get import approval? If so what paperwork do I need? Also when I send for approval for mine and my wifes cars can I email both applications together to avoid sending joint name supporting evidence twice. Thanks in advance

Hi Iron chef Just to let you know I bought a 911 carerra2 convertable 2006 with hardtop 30K (took same of your advise. Thanks!) Can you or any one give me more information about the top tether seat belt fixing for the above car and a Toyota Landcruiser (prado) 8 seater. I want to purchase them in the UK, Where they will be much cheaper. Are they speacially made for each vehicle or universal? What do the look like? What do they do? How many seats do I need them for? I have seen a Exige 260 RGB Special Edition for £37.000 in white currently on 1700 mile, Do you think it will hold its value more and be easier than the Elise I mentioned to sell. Dont aus do convertables? Thanks for your input.

Hi Iron Chef I thought the thee you mentioned are too specialist, they cost a bomb and I might not find a buyer plus will have to pay some luxury tax, might not pay, and Elise roof comes off! Hate to think about the running cost like petrol and insurance etc...

Hi Iron Chef I have a 175 visa I am looking to bring a Lotus Elise over to Perth in June 2013. MY10 currently 2600 miles £30,000 in White with hard and soft tops. Is it worth buying? Always fancyed one, I would keep it for a year or so. The main speedo is in MPH but there is a smaller digital KMH display as well, Does this pass the Aus rules or do I need to change it? Also you stated dont tell insurance company its an PI, dont they know by the import plate. Thanks Mate your imformation is very valuable
