  1. I've been a chef for a number of years but now teach students vocational training qualifications. I also manage a cafe and a catering team.
  2. Hi all Please excuse me if my knowledge isn’t great about the new migration processes but I would be grateful for some information as to what my remaining options are for PR in Oz. I’m now 34 and am a Catering Manager/NVQ assessor and found a sponsor in WA about 2 years ago under RSMS. Our application struck problems as my sponsor couldn’t afford to pay me the market salary of the region. (He came under Margaret River region while the business was located in a very small town with far less tourists) and also he had to show that he’d been unable to fill the position with an Australian. ( he informed me that if he advertised he would undoubtedly be able to get someone at that point ) Anyway, so now I’m a little older and the migration process appears to have changed significantly. From my understanding, my remaining options are: To lodge an EOI with the skillselect website. To hopefully find a new sponsor/invitation apply under the ENS 186 subclass. Have I missed out any remaining options? I have previously paid out on migration agents and am going to have to go it alone this time so would appreciate your assistance. Thanks in advance,
  3. Their fees were written in the contract. It was another £1000 when we send the application off and we weren't near to that stage. Yes, they are Mara registered.
  4. My RSMS application is over before it began really. I had an employer/sponsor in Oz but they encountered issues with the Bureau and they have just told me that they cannot continue with my application. I have struggled to find another Employer and my consultation with another agent today didn't bare any fruit. My question is..am I entitled to any refund from my migration agent? I paid them £1500 deposit which equates to £250 an email and i have to admit to being disappointed with their service. I think i know the answer to this but thought i's ask the question.
  5. This is a hypothetical question but if my state sponsorship application is successful, then is there a time limit in which i have to move to Oz by? Thanks in advance.
  6. Thank you If my job is on schedule 2 then does that mean i can only apply for state sponsorship. I have many family members in WA who would be more than willing to sponsor me should it be needed. Also i saw that GSM migration costs are close to $7k so this wont be cheap with our weak pound right now.
  7. Hi, I'm just about to start the migration process myself and will be (mainly due to money) completing the application myself. Please excuse the many questions but can you point me in the direction of when to obtain the initial informtaion? Also, I would also like to state my circumstances and ask a few questions if i may. Im a 32 year old male who has worked in the catering industry since leaving school. I've many qualifications in this area and worked as a chef up until the last few years. More recently, ive started working as a training officer and (NVQ) assessor. I'm assuming that it will bet VETASSESS who would still complete my skills assessment? 1) As i am not currently working as a Chef, am i right to think that i cannot apply to migrate as one (due to the lack of payslips, tax returns stating etc.) and that it would have to apply as a training officer/NVQ assessor? 2) I am divorced and have a 5 year old daughter in the UK. My ex-wife is happy for me to migrate as long as i continue to provide financially, for my daughter. Is this likely to cause any issues at all? 3) What is a rough estimate of cost involved (although i do appreciate that the information I have provided is a little vague at this stage) Thanks in advance
  8. Really? I met with my migration officer who said I would need it. I'm in Perth for the next 10 days. Could I get it done here as opposed to back in the Uk or is it possibly cheaper
  9. I see your point. I have worked as a chef for many year up until recently. I am now more an assessor who assesses NVQ qualifications. I will check out the link though....thank you
  10. I am keen to migrate to Oz. I have met with a migration officer who has told me it is possible but I will need to get my skills assessed(to obtain more points). I was a cook then a chef for 10 years but during the past 5/6 years I have worked as a training officer which invloved organising students NVQ training and assessing competence. If anyone could tell me who could assess my qualifications or provide me with an overview to migration i would be very grateful. Am v new to all this. Thanks in advance. Ps I am in Perth (WA) for the next fortnight so if there's anything i can do while im here please let me know
