  1. sorry I meant how long did it take to arrive to where you were moving
  2. Yeah we have already marked out the cube on our floor, thanks. how long did yours take to arrive?
  3. Thanks for that snifter, that was the simple answer I couldn't find in all the other move cube threads. thats a decent amount of stuff, was that a squeeze? I don't think we have nearly as many boxes, more of the boxes are random size for kitchen appliances.
  4. Hey We have recently decided to move back to London from Sydney. We don't have a lot of stuff, some furniture and sports stuff like bikes and golf clubs, big tv, smaller kitchen appliances, and other bits and pieces we have collected since being here. We like the idea of the Movecube from Seven Seas, the larger one. We like that its dropped off and we can then pack a much stuff as possible into the box. My question is, Can anyone who has used the MoveCube give us a rough idea of how much stuff they actually fitted in? thanks
  5. Sorry, I didnt realise that I didn't finish the last sentance properly, I meant book something when we are there if we can and try to save a fair bit of money. cost vs stress
  6. Thanks for the advice. We are still not sure if we should try and book a holiday apartment till well after new years, or risk it and book a few nights in a hotel and try to find either a short term on gum tree or a longer term rental once we are actually here, but then the stress levels will rise if we aren't very successful. So yeah, pay more money for less hassle then look for a proper rental after new years or get here and rush around trying to find something in the week before we start work. What do you guys reckon?
  7. Hi We are getting into Sydney on 28th Nov and looking for some advice on what to do rental wise to start with. How long do we book a short term rental place for? and how long will it realistically take on average to find a more permanent rental flat? we are looking for somewhere with easy access to North Sydney. We have asked around the people we know in Sydney already if they have a spare room, but its not looking very promising at the moment with no replies. we have seen a couple of holiday rentals, but they aren't cheap, one in manly was 600-700 a week, with a deal to be done on a months rental. basically what would people suggest we do? thanks
  8. Hi All We are arriving in Sydney 28th Nov 2011 and we aren't really sure where to stay while we try and find somewhere to rent. i was looking around on stayz, but just wondering if thats our best option. Also, once we have found somewhere we want to rent, how long till we are able to move in. We're not sure how long to book short term accomodation for? thanks
  9. where is the triple aces? I am a Tottenham fan and will need to get my football in when I get over there!
  10. Hey Yeah we also booked our flights this weekend gone, and we are heading out on 28th Nov. but we only found out we both had job offers a week or so ago. so its a bit of a rush. I have been feeling pretty nervous about it all, it wasn't ideal the rush that we have put ourself in but its pretty lucky that we both got job offers at the same time starting the same day. we are going over on a WHV at first and my girlfriend is signing sponship papers on her first day. But it is still the step into the unknown that is making me nervous I think. We have never been to Aus and always wanted to holiday there, but couldnt afford it, so decided to do an extented holiday with jobs to see if we really like it living the real life. We are also struggling to deal with the fact that we can't afford to take our 2 dogs and 2 cats with us, plus the fact the dogs wont deal well with the stress of travelling. its jsut not helping things but we know its best they go to a good home here as we are going to be pretty busy over there starting a new life. I think you just have to keep telling yourself the opportunity and experience and lifestyle is to good to pass up and you gotto just go for it, rather than sitting feeling sorry for yourself, thinking everything through too much, which i have found myself doing recently. difficult to stop though.
