Hi all! This may be a stupid question but I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere else so thought I'd try this! I'm in Oz on a 457 visa and have my mum visiting on a TV 651 visitor visa which allows multiple entries to and from Australia for 12months (each stay up to 3months). Whilst back in the UK she sent off a few applications for jobs and now that's she's visiting me she has miraculously had a response! Can she start training at the company paid or unpaid on her tourist visa? There is a clause (8201) which states study/training can be undertaken but not for more than 3 months. I assume this means that for up to 3 months she can technically train in the new job...if she gets it obviously. In the event she gets the job it will be sponsored on the 457 scheme which I realise she will have to leave Australia to lodge - its more the in between time of waiting for the 457 visa to be approved. Does anyone have any insight/personal experience in this? Thanks

Cool - thanks Basically I'm just looking for a nice area, suburb kind of thing, not too far out with a social kind of vibe. Don't mind a bit of a commute into the CBD but no more than 45mins ideally. Just me moving, I'm 23 so want to be somewhere with things going on (or nearby!). Will hopefully bringing my dog over at some point too so some kind of open spaces/parks nearby would be great! Don't know how much of that is possible, but any help is much much appreciated!!

Hi - am a newbie to this sort of thing so bare with me! Am moving to Brisbane in Jan 2012 as have been offered a job in the CBD. Company will be putting me up for a while but would love to know where the best places to rent are as currently I'm blindly searching and looking at things!? Looking forward to some ideas
