Just enquiring can I take my uk free view recorder to oz ?

I lived in australia for 33yrs with my husband and 2 boys. my husband died 2yrs ago after 40 yrs of marriage and i have floundered, this january i sold my home, left my job and returned with all my furniture to liverpool uk. i have bought a flat. yes i have had a good year, done more of europe, had good times with old friends and family BUT !!!! my 4 grandchildren and 2 sons live in oz, one in perth and one in sydney. YOU KNOW I NEED THOSE LITTLE PEOPLE CLOSE TO ME AND REALISE I HAVE TO MAKE THE BEST OF THINGS, i don;t like the heat atall or cockroaches !! or the isolation of perth or limited social scene but have to give in and go back, i will only get one chance to interact with my beautiful grandchildren and hopefully pass on wisdom , humour etc. CAN'T HAVE IT ALL WHAT A SHAME eh !!

Don't even think about perth TOO HOT YOU GET INCINERATED IN SUMMER CANT GO OUT ALSO TOO ISOLATED NOT ENOUGH TO DO OR CHOICES, MUCH BETTER BRISBAND YOU CAN CRUISE THE WHOLE EAST COAST IT IS MUCH CHEAPER TO LIVE AND LOTS MORE TO DO OR TRAVEL TOO FORGET PERTH OR YOU WILL BE SORRY.:arghh:

thank you for your post, i just movedd back to uk in march this year after 33yrs in oz, my husband died 2yrs ago and i had a knee jerk reaction packing up and coming back. the thing is i love england, and have more friends here like my bridesmaid etc and we have always kept in touch, i have been to switzerland, poland, norway, this year but feel sooooo bad at leaving my grandchildren in perth and sydney so feel i HAVE to go back to them. i am going in april for 3 mths but am thinking of going back for good in april?? margaret

i travelled thro in march this year and checked my luggage thro 9 hrs before the flight, i just told them i was going into transit hotel (Ambassador hotel). no problem, it was fab, great sleep and shower then short walk to the gate.:wink:

good luck to you, i have used the transit hotel, it is fab for a good sleep and shower, you would have already put your bags through so will only have hand luggage as it is in the departure lounge. :cool:

oh how mixed up i feel!!, i emigrated to australia 33yrs ago with my husband and two boys aged 5 and 7. we lived in brunswick heads for 5yrs then moved to sydney for 20 yrs, after i lost my job and my husband got kidne failure we moved to be near our son in perth wa, (big mistake). we moved as i was worried about the mortgage and houses were cheaper in perth. anyway my husband died 2 1/2 yrs ago, we had been married 40 years. since then i have floundered. last xmas i came to uk for 4 weeks, i have been back and forward fo holidays about every 3ys since 1978, while i was here i felt i couldn't go on feeling lonely and went back to oz, sold my home, left my job and came to uk, i bought a flat here in liverpool and have travelled a lot in europe, got lovely friends here from childhood, my sister and 2 brothers live by me but NOW I MISS MY GRANDCHILDREN AND WANT TO GO BACK. i can't stand the heat or cockroaches!!! but don't want to miss out on my two grandchildren growing they are 5 and 9. i have two grandchildren in sydney aged 19 and 5 also. I AM GOING BACK 7TH APRIL FOR MY SONS WEDDING?? SHALL I SELL THE FLAT AS I GOT A REPOSESSION I SHOULD EASILY GET MY MONEY BACK OR SHOULD I RENT IT OUT. I CANT BUY A PLACE IN OZ WOULDNT HAVE ENOUGH. SHOULD I PACK UP BEFORE APRIL AND SEND MY GOODS BACK TO OZ?? OR DELAY THE INEVITABLE AND COME BACK AND PACK UP??? GOD I AM MIXED UP !!!! BY THE WAY LOVE UK, my whinges are the health system is bad and don't like the lak of sunlight in the winter. !!:arghh:
