  1. Thank you very much Millie .... It took 6 months more than the expected time but still, in the end I got it ... However, the anticipation with no definite timeline was the most punishing experience of my life ... It was like an extreme test of faith ... I do not have words to explain the emotions that I have right now and during the waiting period ... It was difficult but now its over ... I plan to move in Jan next year to Sydney and after some time to Perth ... Regards,
  2. Hi everyone, not sure if any of you guys are still on this forum. I got my visa grant today, after excruciating 16 months of security checks ... My timeline: Visa lodged: 19-12-2011 CO Assigned: 10-01-2012 Med referred (Front Loaded): 14-12-2012 Med Finalised: 07-04-2013 Visa Granted: 06-06-2013 I am here to thank all of you guys especially Millie, Justine and Ash for all the initial help that you guys provided .... remember me in your prayers ... Regards, Dawood Khan
  3. yes mostly ... but I think SA is a little lenient regarding IELTS score for a lot of occupations ... can see the relevant website ...
  4. can't agree more ... i would have added some statistics regarding the situation of the city i'm living in ... ... :embarrassed: ... but the policy of this forum does not allow political or otherwise irrelevant posts ...
  5. true that ... it takes time to get such things ... like ABPF (application being processed further) or FL (front load) ...
  6. answer to this question is beyond the capacity of the subject of this thread and policy of this forum ...
  7. Please visit following for assessing your points and occupation in sol ... http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/points-tested-migration-fact-sheet.pdf http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule1-2.pdf if you wish to apply for 190 or incase you fall short of points ... u shall visit each state migration website and look for their respective occupations in demand list ...
  8. your country is not mentioned on your profile ... but following table shows the timeline for all Pakistani applicants ... and it is very accurate ... updated by some very dedicated fellows ... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Asgogun4vvmDdGtQTHNRbVQ2eHdHUFpienYyTUpTcHc&hl=en_US#gid=0 you can get a very good idea for 189 timeline ... but currently due to medical backlog ... medical is finalised in around 16 to 18 weeks ... that is adding an extra delay to the processing ...
  9. If you have 60 points then either 189 or 190 are the sensible options ... 190 is state sponsored ... its priority is high ... will get CO is less time ... 4 weeks i guess ... and the visa processing time is also less than others ... but there is an ethical bond to live in the state for 2 years .... 189 is is a straightforward thing ... apply through EOI ... after an invitation ... lodge your visa .... processing time is more and CO is also allocated after quite sometime ... http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/8.0.htm (note that the processing time also depend on whether you are from an HR or LR country) so 189 has more benefits as one can work and live anywhere he want ... thats the only reason I have right now ... but u can further check and inquire about any other benefits ...
  10. I am on team 2 ... best of luck to the rest of you guys ... things are on the move now ...
  11. Hi everyone, my medicals got finalised yesterday i.e. 7-4-13. They were refered since 14-12-12. Regards.
  12. wat can i say except bad luck ... the second link gets good after i try it after 10 -15 min ... as for the second link .... use the following link ... will save u time to enter all the information every time ... http://checkvisastatus.sourceforge.net/ if u wish ... u can download the application and enter ur details in it once ... its just 2 cliks away and u donot have to enter ur info every time ... ask me if u need any help regarding this app or any other ... will answer watever in my capacity ... stay safe ....
  13. there are two portal for online visa applicants ... 1. Electronic Visa Status Inquiry shows the status / progress of online application. Need no password just TRN, DOB, PP No & Country. 2. Electronic visa application documents attachment it needs password, DOB and TRN. Applicant can upload documents in support of his/her claims. both are working fine here with me ... the first link is a little inconsistent as said earlier ...
  14. can not help you with the first part, as its long ago since i wrote my CDRs and not sure what might have changed ... as for the second part ... yes they give you 2 chances to re-write it .... and i guess the do not charge you the whole fee .. just little amount ... happened to a friend ... a word of advise ... make it according to the format they ask you ... will save you lot of processing time ... stay safe ...
  15. the link is ok ... it do these kind of things ... check it after a few hours ... once it was offline for about a day ... its a normal thing ...
  16. Many many congratulations to you Millie ... the patience paid off ... am so happy for you ... I still have a atleast 4 months of wait left before i can start anticipating the golden email for med and pcc ... Best of luck for all your future endeavors ...
  17. scan of the original docs or scan of certified photocopies ... its upto you ... both holds good ...
  18. The last nail in the coffin ... u will get this through soon ... security checks for HR countries like mine take 9-12 months ... after that med and pcc call and a month for visa grant ... that might cheer u up ... still unexpected delays like your can be bit frustrating ....
  19. great news ... it was a long wait for u ...
  20. http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Visa_Validation-Australia This might answer you query ... Cheers ...
  21. Many Congratz ... There is no exception to this. You have to be there before the expiry date of your Meds or PCC which ever comes first ... otherwise you have to do Meds and PCC again and go through more wait as the new docs will be processed and a new entry date is given to you .... Cheers !!
  22. u r goin to get it soon ... have faith ...
  23. hmm ... this was the case with me ... the status changed and there was an email from the CO ...
  24. also case officer name and team number are in the email that will be send to you by the CO ... Cheers ...
