  1. Does anyone have any experience of obtaining the Site Supervisors Licence whilst still here in the UK? Is it actually possible without any Australian qualifications? I am a bricklayer by trade and had my skills assessment approved a number of years ago when I first decided to make the move. The move did not happen back then and after having children etc the dream is still there if not heightened. My then immigration consultant confirmed recently that the approval will always stand and I could re apply on that basis. For the last 5 years I have been working as a site manager and have an NVQ level 4 in Construction Site Management. I would like to go straight into work in the Brisbane area as a Site Manager/Supervisor but understand that I need to have the licence in order to get a position. There is the possibility of going out there as a bricky and then obtain the licence once there but it doesn't fill me with much joy getting my nice soft hands dirty again. Any info on this would be a great help MJ
  2. Ausborn Hi, i'm a time served bricky now working as a site manager in the UK. I have worked in Brisbane back in 2003 as a bricky but obviously a lot has changed since then. I'm keen to get back out to Oz. The idea would be to get a year or so experience then try to get my supervisors license and try to break into construction management over there; although after hearing a few horror stories re immigration scams, I'm a little concerned. Do you know what the site management market is like for Poms? Also if money was decent enough then maybe i'll just stay on the tools.
