  1. Well, after many years, the removal company have turned up and the reality of it all has started to set in... Mixed emotions with us all however excited to start our adventure to Perth. Thus far Anglo Pacific has been good with very polite and efficient packers however did forget to include a sofa on the inventory but easily rectified. We will have an empty house to occupy for a week until our flight but will be with family for a bit of it but treating it to children as part of the adventure. With furniture packed have resorted to sitting on the floor with only a laptop and wifi to occupy. With this flicked through photos of what Perth has to offer such as the beaches for example saying how nice!!! then flips up a shark!!! Made us laugh... More to follow.........................
  2. I sincerely hope we stay out... Let the UN deal with this. How many more wars does the UK need to be involved in!!! Why is it that only the US and UK get involved? Though it brought a tear to my eye seeing those dead children I feel that we CANNOT get involved. Iran have already stated their stance on western involvement and feel that this could cause more harm than good. We also have to see a larger picture here and get the fuller story as the media can stir propaganda... I'm not saying that there was not a guilty party here and certainly not saying that the Syrian Leader had no involvement however need to know all facts first before jumping to conclusions...

    McMansions

I suppose its a matter of taste... You could argue that many houses in the UK are a little monotone... Where I currently live in East London consists of 1930's bay fronted houses which are usually the same with exception to different doors! I do however like the idea of building your dream home and having input into it and not letting a house builder decide to what they want you to live in...
  4. Alright mate... Sound like on the same wave length of sorts... Moving over in 2 weeks and basing myself NOR and ****$#g myself of the idea and becoming too much of a home body. Will go mad!!!
  5. Its easy to write sweeping statements regarding jobs. I'm sure that there has been a downturn in most sectors but still beleive that most people are in employment. Persoanlly been lucky here in the UK and though we are in a recession I've felt little of it. Its easy to look at the immediate facts in front of you however life is generally good for most people.
  6. Hi Phil. Will be moving to Mullaloo start September. Me, London 39 with Mrs and 2 boys 9 & 3. Like a beer and laughs, golf is shocking which probably accounts for 95% of players! Would be nice to meet good people...

    BBQ's

Hi,I hope that this is not a dumb question however is there a restriction to the type of BBQ's that people can have such as coal vs gas? I'm saying this as a friend of mine said that coal ones were not allowed on the state of Victoria due to possible causes to bush fires.Any help is needed before I buy one before I move there in 2 months.Cheers.
  8. I'm in for sure and having mild anxiety attacks of not having make company aside from having just the family...
  9. We're over in August me , mrs and 2 boys 8 & 2...
  10. When we arrive in Perth we want to settle in either Mullaloo or Ocean Reef. However, having looked around for short lets there seem to be few and far between that aren't extortionate. If we take a short let in another area will we still be able to get our eldest into a school in Mullaloo/Ocean Reef or do we need to be in the area in a short/long let before they will take him. Any advice appreciated!
  11. I'm sure it will be OK. I came out thinking that I had completely messed it up. I too think it's ridiculous and so did most people hearing what I had to do at the test centre! Heh ho, we don't make the rules. I had to talk about my favourite childhood game so lucky there. Let us all know how it goes and best of British...
  12. My two boys are both up to date with their vaccinations including Hep A & B. However, I have been told they also need to be vaccinated for Chickenpox before they can start school/day care in Australia. Our Doctor in the UK said it's not something they offer so I wonder if anyone has had them done in the UK privately or did you wait until you got to Australia and have them done there. Cheers

    KLM Airlines

I have travelled with them on short haul but heard good reports for long. They are a part of Star Alliance if that helps.
  14. Congratulations. I screamed when I found out that I passed. I was so sure that I hadn't done enough.
  15. Welcome here and hope you seek what you are looking for...
